Not surprising that they ignored this. Cuz they dont want to admit thats what theyre arguing against.

I actually have been and just did in my previous post right before yours. But sure, let's spell it out.

Nobody's trying to convince anyone that people aren't judged by innate characteristics SOMETIMES.

YOU are trying to convince people that being judged by innate characteristics is the norm, perhaps even natural.

That's illogical. Plain factually wrong. Ridiculous. Bad for society. And may I add, in rather bad taste.

This is true. Yet because they have white skin, you're likely to say they have "white privilege" despite not having been considered "white"

Okay?

Do you not see the contradiction? Those people wouldn't have benefited from white privileve, having not been considered white despite having white skin. Yet you would assume someone had privilege because of having white skin.

Im hispanic and have white privilege because of my skin. The skin is what people see and judge first. As long as they don't see my last name, I get the benefit of being seen as white. You really don't understand this.

What contradiction? They were treated differently when they weren't White, but now they are White.

Edit:
Unless you were referring to White supremacy itself as a contradiction, I don't know what you're talking about.

Oh, so youre just going to lie and pretend that there are no macro effects of prejudice. Weird.

Macro effects of prejudice such as... more prejudice?

There's no reason to fetishize prejudice and break it down into different kinds of prejudice. That's unhealthy for society... and probably for individuals, too. If you treat someone differently because of their innate characteristics then you're a bigot, period.

From some people it definitely is a judgement and a way for them to look down on you.

The concept itself isn't though, and it should be a way to point out ways many of unknowingly benefit from just being who we are.

Class privilege exists as does majority privilege, but this is not exclusive to white people or the US in general.

The concept of white privilege is inherently racist and nothing good is coming out of it for those pushing the narrative.

https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/neazxq/the-disturbing-thing-i-learned-studying-white-privilege-and-liberals

This brings up a good point. A lot of these issues are really socioeconomic at the root. Class privilege after all is the original definition of privilege. There might even be something to be said about majority privilege (since after all a majority is a class). A lot of good might come out of such a debate if this "privilege" bollocks is rephrased that way. Maybe that's why the sjws really mean and they just take it a little too far, you know they just make an understandable mistake and make wrong assumptions.

I think it's a good idea to normalize the act of correcting people who misuse terms rather than allow it to be misconstrued and weaponized.

Trying to make entire terms into pejoratives is just an emotional response. It's short sighted and will stunt the overall growth of society.

People are bigots for treating people differently based on innate characteristics but youre also a bigot for recognizing the macro effects of these prejudices is not an argument rooted in a good faith attempt to discover the truth.

Again, there are no "macro effects of these prejudices". That's a sick way to look at it, the wrong way to look at it, and the bad way to look at it.
You're a bigot because the "macro effects of these prejudices" are just more prejudice, and you're not "recognizing" them, by "explaining" them you're validating them, you're justifying them, you're perpetuating them. That's insane. There's no difference between one and the other, there's no "explanation" for one or the other. It's bigotry.

No, it's right, and you would clearly and obviously see it if you didn't fetishize and obsess over bigots and their bigotry.

No, people are not bigots just because there are bigots and bigotry. No, bigots and bigotry are not some sort of natural part of society. Gtfo with that shit. Not only is it ridiculous, it is indeed a form of bigotry itself. You're compounding the problem. Not only do we have to deal with bigotry and the disadvantage of those prejudiced against, now we also have to deal with reverse bigotry and the perceived advantage and "privilege" of those not prejudiced against! Of course there is a point. We have a topic about government assistance RIGHT NOW where people are trying to tell other people about a situation they aren't even in.

Sometimes a kid with both parents make fun of the dirty kid from the group home. They don't know their privilege and should understand it before criticizing and judging.

The only people who don't want to acknowledge their privilege are dishonest people who you can never trust to be 100% with you.

I mean your statement that

Privilege is something you have earned.

That's incorrect. For example, would you not agree that Trump was born into privilege?

Donald John Trump was born on June 14, 1946, at the Jamaica Hospital in the borough of Queens, New York City.[1][2] His father was Frederick Christ Trump, a Bronx-born real estate developer, whose own parents were German immigrants. His mother was Scottish-born housewife and socialite Mary Anne MacLeod Trump.[3]

It's honestly not worth even talking to people who are purposely being dense on the subject. If your narrative can't survive facts, you should concede.

But it's mostly the bottom of the barrel of minds that would even resort to such intellectual dishonesty. You can't even get very far into the subject without them trying to find ways to derail and disrupt.

These types CAN choose to stay out of the conversation if it bothers them so bad, lol.

well yeah. a person who is raised by both parents is privileged more than someone who is raised by a single parent.
that's why it's dumb people see privilege as an attack. it's not a good or bad thing. simply a neutral statement.

do some people try to use "you're privileged!" as an excuse to shut somebody down? yes. but that just means they too misunderstand what privilege is supposed to be.

all privilege describes is 'natural' circumstances that give you an advantage over someone less fortunate. and that's how you're supposed to feel. fortunate. not attacked.

Right, we've gone over this. This is a stupid way to look at things. Stupid and damaging.

You're not "advantaged" or "privileged" over someone just because there are people who consider their natural state inferior. And if you believe so, you're a bigot.

And having both parents isn't some sort of privilege or advantage. You can say that someone raised with a single parent or orphaned is disadvantaged, fuck even relatively "underprivileged", "less" privileged than someone with both parents if you want to force the point. But that's a socioeconomic issue, and that's not how the word is used. Privilege by definition is an advantage, it's not just a "neutral" statement. A privilege is something that sets a group of people above or even just apart from others. It's not just a lack of a disadvantage.

I am not "fortunate" because I don't belong to this or that group that suffers prejudice. If I thought so I'd really be a bigot. Oh hey, thank goodness I'm not gay. Thank goodness I'm not black, wow I wouldn't want to be black, that really sucks. Man good thing I'm a man and not a woman, that's messed up. I'm so fucking privileged, awesome.
