Sold my $3000 electric PRS guitar because my $300 electric LTD is better. Sounds better. More versatile. Less pretty though. I'm finding "you get what you pay for" to be a myth these days, with better manufacturing processes.

Really that guitar was the only expensive item I really own. I can't think of anything else other than my car (18k used, I felt I overspent but it'll last me and I know the full history) and mattress that costs over $1000.

Even at $500 that limits me to two kickstarter board games w/expansions/accessories that haven't came in the mail yet, digital piano, macbook, iphone, and acoustic Martin guitar.

Getting down to $200 I have a few things: iPad, three kickstarter board games, a full set of bleach and naruto manga, two bookshelves if you include tax, apple watch, PSVR.

I feel like I own too much stuff and am trying to get rid of it. Idk, I want to have things but having things stresses me out. It's a neverending battle.

More expensive appliances and electronics are better than cheaper ones. It isn't a myth.

It's not a 1-to-1 correspondence, though. You can easily buy expensive things which are also crap, while a different, cheaper brand may be of higher quality.

Basically, you have to do a bit of research to figure out which brands are more expensive because they've invested in higher quality, and which are more expensive mainly for brand recognition or trendiness.

You also have to consider that brands that used to be known for quality can go down-hill, so people may be spending more because they believe that brand is better than it actually is.

House, then car, and collection of baseball cards. Best of the 80's and 90's from 1980 until 1998. Sadly, I don't have Frank Thomas rookie card without his name. Still worth over $400 on its own

Best card I never had was a liliana of the veil foil.
Darn friend bought that pack from my unopened packs. Mistakes were made.

I also about 8 years ago bought a then 22 year old pack of baseball cards (that had gum!) from a random grocery store vending machine for 50 cents. Pulled a Randy Johnson rookie. It's only like 30 bucks but it was the best card of the set. I didnt even want to ope. the pack. My friend opened it when I was in his bathroom without telling me. Dum dum. I want too mad tho because of the Johnson pull.

other than my 2 cars and motorcycle,my oled tv and my wardrobe. Been blowing my money on traveling these past 6 months, but I don't have much to show for it other than some pix.

I'm not very materialistic as there's nothing I can really say I wish to own or w/e. consumerism almost sickens me

A house and a car.

After that, the next most valuable thing I own is probably my 1990 NWC cart. Those things go for ~$20 000 these days.

Collectively, my video game collection is probably worth ~$35 000-40 000 (including the NWC cart), and I have a handful of other things in my house that have four-digit price tags.
