Also that most people who actually took time off of work and paid to go to Blizzcon are probably massive Blizzard fans and are looking for any excuse to forgive them.

Blizzard's plan to "shower on the big announcements" to pacify the crowd worked like a charm. Overwatch doesn't even have anything new to show, it's basically an announcement that they're still working on Overwatch, something everybody already knew.

I'm sure like at every E3 press event, they had people planted in the crowd to try and get rolling applause started too.

I'd imagine among those who do care, some probably feel there is nothing they can do about it that will actually make a difference. With all the wrongdoings going on in the world, I'd imagine many only chooses to do something about the ones they feel they can make a difference with.

I actually stopped buying Activision Blizzard games when they announced a record year of profits, then laid off over one hundred employees. I unsubscribed from WoW which I had been an active subscriber for close to a decade, ok?

This Hong Kong situation is just another decision I don't agree with them about. If anything, it strengthens my resolve to not give them any more money, ok?

I know my action alone won't make any real difference, but at the very least, my conscience is clear. Something I can't say about nearly everyone who swore them off, then came crawling back this weekend, ok?

Like I said, gamers have no backbone or resolve, and I shouldn't be surprised. My disappointment for this shit community has never been higher though, ok?

I don't play any Blizzard games in the first place, so I can't do much more than that. But there are other issues with other companies in which I and many others stand firm and speak with our wallets, even forgoing games we'd like to play.

If a game comes out from a company that supports China, and it looks fun, I'm gonna freaking play it.

I'm not going through everything I buy to make sure it isn't made in China, or by a company that supports it etc. If you want to, good for you.

Conveniently, most of the game companies that are doing things that could potentially motivate me to boycott them tend to also infest their games with monetization schemes that I want no part of. I don't particularly make any sort of formal decision to boycott them, but I often end up effectively doing so by just not buying games that do things I don't like.

Even in comparison to the smaller country, in a hypothetical in which all the people who "internet care" about this situation are in the US it is still statistically insignificant.
