Not necessarily the worst, just the most 'who cares.' I'm thinking it's probably Ant-Man or Ant-Man 2.

I always thought Iron Man 3, despite cleaning the fuck up in the box office, was kinda forgettable. At least in the sense that it doesnt push much of the MCU narrative forward.

Thor 2 introduces the reality stone, kills off Thors mom, kills off Loki which sets up Odins death in Thor 3, and is returned to in Endgame. It is objectively more important than Incredible Hulk.

Im not saying Thor 2 is less important. Im saying for all it did the movie was so forgettable I draw a blank trying to recall it so to me personally its the most forgettable of the lot. Imo Thor doesnt even exist until Ragnarok where they finally made a watchable Thor movie.

Probably Hulk even though I thought it was pretty good. Thor 2 sucked but it was one of the "Infinity Stone movies" so that alone makes it kind of important.

Captain Marvel probably.

The other ones in the conversation were early enough to still be notable as a novelty of growing pains for the MCU. Thor 2 less, but yeah, it ended up being important.

Captain Marvel had no real excuse for being the aimless nothing it is.

Ive gotta go with Ant-Man and the Wasp. It features one of the less-important Avengers, and was released between Infinity War and Endgame, rendering it a forgotten movie before it even came out.

I don't think it can be Thor 2 just for the fact that Thor 2 is pretty much everybody's go to for worst movie, so it's not forgettable, even if for the wrong reasons

I'd also argue Captain Marvel is probably the more forgettable of the two "in between" movies just by the virtue of it's not important to Endgame other than the character existing, and it's not like anybody knows the character at that point in Endgame, anyway, so nothing is really missed. Ant-man and the Wasp actually has a really big plot point tied up into Endgame.

I don't really disagree but it feels weird as labeling Ant-Man and the Wasp more important as a movie when the entire relevance is contained to the post-credits scene. And even then, they explain it again and why it matters IN Endgame so it's ultimately pointless.

Captain Marvel felt like it expanded the MCU in a more worthwhile way than Ant-Man 2, even though the latter was more immediately relevant. In the long run, I think Captain Marvel is going to come out ahead as more important.

Well, I specifically mean more important to Endgame, since the argument was that it's forgettable because it's sandwiched between Infinity War and Endgame. The Quantum Realm as a whole became very important to Endgame, not just the post-credits scene.

The Quantum Realm was shown in Ant-Man 1, and I didnt really get much out of its appearance in 2 as it related specifically to Endgame. You learn Hank Pym was messing with it, but that was already known and is a backstory element they could have explained with a couple lines...which they did.

I personally feel like Captain Marvel's connections to the overall MCU make it LESS important due to how they end up bringing it all down as a whole. A lot of those "answers" and shoehorned in references are both awful and contradictory.

Let's not forget that they continuously namedrop SHIELD in Captain Marvel as an acronym even though calling is shield was literally done for the first time in universe in Avengers 1. That's a running joke in that movie building up to calling it SHIELD at the end.

I was referring more to the space stuff and Monica Rambeau, the earth backstory stuff I also thought was pretty lazy fan service even if Samuel L Jackson is great.

Really if I have a firm stance it's that Marvel tricked everyone into thinking these two movies would be highly relevant to Endgame and they're both kind of nothing.

That had already been retconned by Agent Carter, and is pretty easily explained away as Coulson just fucking around. Unless you really want to nitpick it but you do you!
