In retrospect, I should have known that the show would wrap him up quickly without any final twist, because he's not really a character in the books and the show seems to be contorting itself to get back to GRRM's planned ending. Still they could have done some really interesting or impactful things with the NK after building him up for like 4 seasons (or whenever we first saw him, I forget). The show's never really recovered from that point.
