Yeah, I don't get it personally. I would have no issue referring to a trans woman as a woman, or a trans man as a man. I'm guessing that even hermaphrodites would identify as one or the other, but true hermaphrodites are extremely rare.

how often do you run into this "problem"? you act like its an every day occurrence for you. the only place i really see it being an "issue" is online, and even then its people complaining about it like your post...You guys are really making a mountain out of a hill. There is no need to direct announcements towards pets/service animals. They are not capable of processing or caring if they are included or not, just allowing them on is good enough for them. The vast majority of people identify as either male or female. For the small amount of people left over, those that identify as both are still included and we are only left with those who reject gender identity entirely. If you are going to do that, you shouln't give a fuck what they are saying since you are rejecting a major bit of society already.

Really, this would make sense if we had sentient robots or aliens that wouldn't fall under those categories.

This is the kind of thing where it's really not a big deal, but it's really stupid. The people it's trying to pander to are either so small that it doesn't matter or simply nonexistent (as in the only people asking for it are people unrelated to the issue for social brownie points). Nah I feel the same way. Go look at the topic about the dude in the vape shop. The entire topic is:

"Comment"

"That's ironic, coming from you"

"Oh yeah, well you did this"

And it just kinda goes back and forth. Eventually the originally discussion is gone and the usual users are linking to other topics to bring down the other user and they're not even debating about anything anymore and are just name calling and bringing up year old shit to gain credibility and diminish the others without actually making any salient points. But that's the state of debate these days. It's why I'm just a lurker now and I'll get involved in some silly topics to shoot the shit but I can only be a serious poster here in very small doses because everyone wants to take it to a serious personal level and act like a child in doing so
