red13n is good for one boneheaded topic every contest, and for him this contest he just couldn't contain his furry-dom over Spyro the Dragon. To call that topic an embarrassment would be an understatement, but I chose not to save it out of respect. I like red, truly, but the annual "how dare people like women for their bodies as I stare at prepubescent fuzzy cartoon animals" topic is getting really dumb. Which is whatever, you do you bro, but TJF was not the reason Chun-Li won this match. For the unaware, TJF stands for The Jug Factor, which ironically enough exists because of.... Spyro the Dragon! Way back in 2002, everyone picked him to beat Morrigan in round 1. Then Morrigan was given a match picture with her boobs flopping all over the place, and people credited her jugs for winning; ergo, "The Jug Factor". TJF.

TJF may have been the reason Spyro lost back in 2002, but in 2018? Come on man. First off, Spyro was hilariously overseeded due to the Spyro Reignited Trilogy coming out right during this contest and the bracket having 128 characters. You're bound to get insane nonsense when you remove the 8 strongest people and keep in a field of 128.

There's a distinct lack of jugs there, plus Capcom has spent nearly 30 years making her legs look good. Really, it's in her moveset and everything. Ask Justin Wong.

Anyway, red wasn't alone in overrating Spyro, as one can see from the prediction percentage. 45% of people thought he was winning for whatever reason, plus he had a respectable showing as the poll went on. Chun-Li was never in any actual danger of losing, but she did have some updates under 50%. If you put Spyro in KOS-MOS's fourpack, he could have won two matches this year -- which is true of a LOT of characters, just wait until we get to that abomination. Does our language have a phrase for whatever the opposite of "murderer's row" is? Creampuff scheduling?

This was a good contest for 2002 characters in need of a break. But Spyro got his break in 2013, so his fans can stop whining about a TJF that doesn't exist. Boobs are for children, anyway. Men like ass ;)

I grow exceedingly happy every time Neku loses a contest match -- the little turd is a well deserved 0-4 now!! -- because Neku and his game are both steaming piles of monkey trash. To this day I am 100% convinced everyone who says they like The World Ends With You are in on a massive inside practical joke, because I refuse to believe anyone actually likes that game. I don't like things like Shadow of the Colossus or Warcraft 3 or Hearthstone or Phantom Hourglass, but I at least understand why people like those games. I don't actually get what people see in TWEWY. Is it the bad writing with a literal repetitive story, the terrible artwork, the joke-tier plot, the confusing gameplay, the embarrassing music, or a mixture of all of the above? I really would love an answer as to what anyone can see in that game.

And don't even try defending the music, especially with me. The only possible way anyone can like trash like this is if they're listening to songs for the deaf. You can't even hear it!

The only thing, and I quite literally mean the only thing defensible in that game is no random battles. Everything else can go get thrown into a bacon grease fire for all I care. TWEWY blows.

Speaking of bacon, Ganondorf came out in this match and showed everyone who's boss. Because who doesn't love a big ol' piece of pork fat with their breakfast, right? Breath of the Wild plus Smash hype was on full display in this match, and it was a huge sign of things to come later. Even Ganon's prediction percentage as a 4 seed dwarfed what Dante was doing, and outside of Vivi, there was nothing standing in Ganon's way in this division at all. Neku getting even one vote was an embarrassment to gamers everywhere, but I'll take Ganon breaking nearly 80% on the little punkass beta.

We need a new word for beta males like Neku, because people actually know what a "beta" is and being in second place isn't all that bad. I was thinking Rho Male, because Rho is the one letter in the Greek alphabet everyone forgets about. Which is exactly where Neku Sakuraba should be. If we do have to suffer through him making a bracket, put him against Link in round 1 every year until he goes away. We got rid of Guybrush Threepwood. We can get rid of Neku. Stuff like this is why Square is such a joke now.

The only way I ever managed to edit anything is to click on the arrow and using the classic editor.

As someone commented, this seems to be a thing with Ulti, he seems to REALLY hate games that try for something different and fail. To me, at least if I were to fairly judge a game, wouldn't an ambitious failure at least be better than something like Big Rigs which fails at even being a normal "game"?

You'll probably like it! It has nice stylish graphics, a catchy soundtrack that blends a lot of genres, a solid cast of characters, and a pretty addicting style of gameplay. Only real issues I see are a terrible script and there being some pins which are just too awkward to be useable in battle. Other than that, it's a really good game.

I am hardly the only one who hates Phantom Hourglass and its 3874 trips to the same dungeon. Dissidia's brave system is fucking GARBAGE. It's the most nonsensical trash I've ever seen in a fighting game.

You can just look at my profile. I love all the Advance Wars games, all the Fire Emblem games sans Echoes, Phoenix Wright 1 and 3, a bunch of classic Game Boy stuff including those Final Fantasy Adventure games everyone hates, all the Castlevanias except Rondo of Blood, and so on. If a game is good or bad, it does so on its own. I have nothing against mobile.

Speaking of, am I allowed to freaking LOVE the Nintendo Switch? I'll dump on Nintendo all day for a bad gimmick, but "all of my games can be handhelds" is such a damn good idea.

I think this idea was just fine for Character Battles where it's at least more likely that someone will recognize one of the characters from each match and pick them.

For a Games Contest, this would be a bad idea. It's a lot harder to sell people on the idea of voting for a game they've never played if you had a match where someone has not played either game. This would a lot more likely in the future Game of the Decade contest in 2020.

Echoes's gameplay is worse than Birthright. Echoes's story and presentation eclipse Birthright. Birthright's gameplay is an ok sandbox if you want to dick around, but Echoes will always have mediocre gameplay outside of a few areas.

But both are better than Revelation.

I don't like Awakening at all, it is a pretty bad game and sorta killed what I love about the series. I just like Birthright even less. No game after RD has lived up to the old games in any way shape or form though, and probably no modern FE game ever will with the direction the series is going.

Hot take: RD is the most overrated game in the Fire Emblem franchise.

That might be true. Chapter 2 is a really unfun experience to play, and Chapter 1 on Hard basically renders some units unusable. Part 3 and 4 I enjoyed greatly, though, and those two alone put it above any of the more recent games imo. It is definitely not on the same sort of level as Genealogy or Path of Radiance, and I'd probably put it below Sacred Stones too.

RD is still better than Awakening and beyond. I felt Birthright was slightly more enjoyable than Awakening, but they are still both pretty bad.

Elincia's Gambit is either a boring defense map OR gets ended in 1 turn by Haar. It's by far the most overrated map in the series.

I like the scale of the endgame, I just didn't find it fun. 2-P is also incredibly easy and boring, and 2-3 takes way too long with the boulder animations. Idk, I've just never enjoyed Part 2.

I will give Part 1 credit for providing a legitimate challenge, I just don't like the unit balance is all. Everyone is either an invincible tank, a weak unit you can ignore, or Jill or Zihark, the two units which I find worth continuing to use. Arguably Nolan as well, I've just never used him since there are so many other good primary axe users.

It's just not Ulti's PCA without his overblown rants.

I dont think you get it. FE13 is FE13. FE14, to me, in all forms or versions, is also FE13. And FE13 is an abomination against god that must be wiped from the face of existence, along with everyone who ever admits to liking it.
