man ryu is raising better than seph. what a bum. I wonder how close that match gets. Seph is the only chance to break the noble nine but its looking more and more likely. its gonna happen this year for sure but youd think all the exposure in double elimination, etc would get them, not X or Luigi.

Ryu needs to break Sephiroth's Falcon score on KOS-MOS for me to feel like the upset could happen.

Not saying Sephiroth is untouchable and Ryu being the first legit character to shatter the noble nine (I think?) would be really great but low-60s on KOS-MOS isn't a confidence-inspiring performance.

Ryu is always up to test his limits through glorious FIGHT.

I prefer Seph and I'm pulling hard for this one cause it'd be too perfect in character. But yeah not too hopeful right now

Yeah, I haven't seen anything from Ryu yet that tells me, "That would beat Seph."

Of course if you told me 'one of these performances is by Sephiroth' I would pick neither, but Sephiroth is the kind of character to let an overperformance like this happen and still put a solid win over Ryu.

I can't take KOS-MOS over Captain Falcon.

Amaterasu always being able to exceed expectations is one of my favorite recurring contest bits, though.

Weirdly Ryu's win over Shepard is what made me first think he had a shot against Sephiroth.

Captain Falcon's strength is pretty much all Smash.

King K. Rool's strength right now is pretty much all Smash, but amped up due to being one of the focuses of Smash hype.

I guess we'll find out in 4 days?

Wow, I forgot about Ryu beating Sonic overnight clear back in 2004... man, trends were so much more pronounced back in those days. Even more extreme than that, Kefka was beating Knuckles overnight in the same contest, but Knuckles ultimately won with 57.43%.

Maybe Kirby overperformed on Phoenix? Phoenix really got hammered in a match with Mario before. But I really do think Luigi is overperforming on Tails.
