Unfortunately, the increased attention to this hasn't worked to the intended effect. I've mostly tried to stay out of it, because when you don't... I mean look what prof did. He dropped Rikku, who looked very strong, because of this debacle. Now she's just barely getting by as a result.

-Second offence is fully the number of saves required to be safe that day, and if there's still rounds left at the end of the contest it'd carry over to the start of next year's edition;

I honestly thought this was what it was. Shows how often I read that text wall at the start of each round I guess, but I thought that historically 5 was what we did.

I think it was 5 rounds during FFD's hosting, and then it got changed to 1 during Leon since he checked all the saves and it basically never happened any more?

You at least get to return to the contest in 5 rounds. The character, and more importantly all the people whom you screwed over, don't get another shot until the next contest. I'm not sure how this is so unfair honestly. Not that I'm clamoring for extra ban lengths to be set after the fact, because they really can't be since they're being advertised as less, but it's definitely not some terrible heavy-handed system.

I agree.... its not absurdly tough.

From now on if you make one honest mistake I advocate for 100 round ban. Thats right, not just that contest, but however many rounds had passed already, you miss that next contest as well

Second offense is a 1,000 round ban. (Decade)

Third offense is a lifetime ban... because Lopen comes to your house and righteously executes you while you are sleeping in the name of Ramza Justice.

I think thats all relatively fair for a slight mistake.
