But if all that water is up that high above the atmosphere and it all starts falling... I'm no meteorologist but I figure it would eventually just turn into a massive cloud before it hits the ground and then it would start raining. Like that whole situation has serious implications for the Earth's weather and climate. A single, planet-encompassing thunderstorm. I imagine it would not function like a typical thunderstorm, to say the least. Religions/mythologies as we know them started forming when people stopped moving around and settled in one place. They would settle near water because water is super important. But places with bodies of water are also prone to flooding, which was probably a fairly novel experience for former nomads. Naturally, that led to an increase in flood stories being made and passed down in their cultures.
