Evidence suggests that it does exist. All of the world?s major religions also refer to the great flood, so there is already reason enough to historically support the story.

Science has already proven that the flood happened but it was nowhere close to global scale. A massive lake was flooded by the ocean due to rising sea levels and the erosion of the small land strip that had previously separated them. Sediment and fossil samples proved that the modern sea in question (can't remember if black sea or Mediterranean) was once fresh water. This is why local religions from that region have flood stories, but others, such as native American and eastern religions do not. There were unaffected by the occurrence.
