The story follows Virginia Maxwell, an amateur Drifter (adventurer) looking for adventure on Filgaia, a desert planet with wild west motifs. After foiling an attempted train robbery of a valuable treasure, Virginia joins forces with three other Drifters as they travel the world and unravel a mysterious plot involving the ancient history of the planet.

Not necessarily a sterling endorsement, but it's still the only Wild Arms game I actually enjoyed playing.

Love all of them, wish they would make more.

First was hard to play at points, and it came out at the exact same time as FF7 if I remember right, so didn't do so well.Love the intro though, and love the theme (of the whole series).

Those games and the Grandia games were just a freaking blast back in the day.

Too bad 4 had such a shitty battle system. I never had a chance to play 5.

I did, I didn't like them. Hence the statement.

You must have played the remakes instead then. The remake of 1 just took everything that was great about the original and changed it.

If he played the remake of 1, he'd like it, as it's basically the same game as 3.

I love 3's music, and enjoyed its story, though it was kinda slow-paced and too easily broken up in chapters (including a final chapter we ~almost~ could have done with or without). The combat was a little bit too easy, but also took excessive grinding to get anywhere good with it. The puzzles were decent and simplistic. It was also the last of the (non-remake) WA games to do the tools properly so that your main characters all felt like they were contributing outside of combat.

It was also censored. They changed the gender of a character just because they were gay.

Trust me. 5 is a MUCH better game.

5 at least tried to feel a little like a WA game, even though a lot of it was subpar. There was no WA4, just a steaming pile of shit that dare used the title.

I think I played like 10-12 hours of 4. I beat 1 and played most of 2 and 3. I had a bad habit of never finishing games.

You should finish 4. It's really short.

This was one of the better JRPGs on the PS2. WA5 was also pretty good but not as good as WA3.

Nope, PS1 originals.

I just didn't like the plots or characters, so I had no investment in the games. But something about 3 (which may have been at least partly due to the somewhat upgraded look/style due to being on the PS2) managed to capture enough of my interest to make it worthwhile.

Then all the games that followed managed to lose it again.
