Maybe also minorly low, especially since I decided to read the comments below and learned that this part is pretty much Asriel taking the powers he had as Flowey and controlling the battle, so the song is actually the melody of Your Best Nightmare. But on a second thought... Actually, I'd say more but I'd have to spoil something about the music around it to do so, I think I'll wait till I talk about Hopes and Dreams or SAVE the World, whichever falls in a point where it's fair to talk about.

Part of me thinking Toby might have thrown in that final choice purely to highlight the irony of choosing to stay, which goes against much of what the protag had been trying to do for the first half of the game, as Toriel herself points out.

It's a nice concept where it's a reversed version of a song... but in reality was it necessary? There's just so many songs just for this final little segment and so I end up grumpy about them. We had 3 themes on the final battle of the True Pacifist run, then 3 songs about the aftermath of it... This could have just been a part of HIS Theme, but it wasn't. And it should have been.

The song kind of sounds so misplaced, reminds me of Megaman Battle Network series instead of this game. And the title reminds me of how I didn't even like the dating sequence with Papyrus, it made me dislike his character. Well, one of the things that made me dislike his character, as he wasn't exactly in "oh hey I like this character" territory before it.

Funnily enough, I just talked about a song that sounded like it was from another series, and here we have one song from this set. Now for those that think I'm like "oh no it sounds like FF6, how dare it" and drop both of these songs here... don't stress that, this song's dropping here honestly because it's the second of the two songs. One song was good enough, imo. The second kind played during a scene that no longer was really referencing FF6 anymore.

This one's very... my taste sort of thing. When ranking this OST, I did it in a single day. I listened to a longer soundtrack and came across a jazz song. I need a mood for jazz, so when a jazz song isn't fitting with the rest of the soundtrack... it fits in game, but outside of it and during a ranking... it's better if it's in a group of jazz songs.

Some sound effect "songs" dropped long before this one, and I know someone in particular has wondered why this lasted as long as it did. Is it a necessary track? No. Is it something that was really needed considering it plays in just a small area? Not really either. However... it's position in the soundtrack actually works to its favor quite well, also in the game. This noise follows one of the more intense sections of the game... the Undyne chase/fight. And when your adrenaline was pumping from that, you walk into a volcano with a BG"M" of just... steam. It's like, you have the feeling of cooling off from the adrenaline, but the steam makes it so it's not entirely a calming endeavor, as you know you're in a volcano.

At least the Nice Cream man is there.

Funny note, it took me re-listening to this song to realize it's the same melody as Spider Dance. But really, I hate that it's a song used for a very tiny moment of dogs sniffing you. Why not a longer song that stretched into the fight itself? I would have liked that. Unlike my previous jazz song, this was early enough in the soundtrack that it wasn't out of the... theme of the music prior.

It's an okay song at doing its job, and it's actually kind of cool when you notice that once again, it's a song that will be used later (Your Best Nightmare) in a different way to do its melody. Not the most remarkable though, I read the comments and barely realized where this song played, then eventually enough Flowey comments made me realize the thing I mentioned about what the song is.

Wow a top 5 track in the 70s. Although if you didn't listen to the whole thing it's a little more fair since the last 20 seconds are the best.

The dating songs are clearly Phoenix Wright style though... That's what's fun about that sequence.

Oh I did listen to the full song, it's just I was so uninterested in the end of it. Also, I've never played a Phoenix Wright game so the scene and the music completely went over my head.

One thing that's actually good about Shop music in Undertale is just how there's a shop theme basically, and then they tie in that theme with the surroundings. Now, I'm not going to diss Temmie or praise it either, but... it's kind of just a dorkish theme. The shop song just is kind of awkward and I don't really like it, but I also appreciate the song because of the shop stuff. It's just easier to put it in the "okay" tier.

I also know if I were in high school and other kids were acting like Tems, I'd probably hate them a LOT. I think 99% of the reason I'm able to appreciate the Tems is because I don't have them shoved in my face on a daily basis.

Honestly, in a ranking project... credits music is really awkward. No matter where you rank the individual songs, you're just listening to the same ones again. The credits sequence is really awesome and probably the best I've ever seen in a video game, and the music goes well in it. I just don't care that much for it on its own, as it has an awkward melody mixed in with the songs.

Alright, here's a song that once again takes Mettaton's scenes making a reference to FF6 music, and to be honest, I wish it wasn't a track, I wish the song overall was like a minute shorter first off, and then applied to Death by Glamour. Not to be played as part of the boss music, but as a DC al Coda sort of thing. There has been at least one soundtrack that's done that before, where basically there's a part of a song that plays at the aftermath of an event that the song is played at. It's recorded as part of the song, but the song has repeats just before that part and it will Coda skip to that external melody once you reach a specific part of the song. However, it's not like I wish it didn't exist, I like the song... it's just I wish it wasn't a separate track.

Alright, so this is the better of the two Report songs, and as with tradition of this past group of songs, I have something problematic to say about it instead of just praising it. Death Report has the problem of being played in one situation, and it's like... I forget if I'm right about this... but I think it gets cut out whenever you're in a disarming battle with the bombs? Eh, either way... it felt pointless.
