Seemingly unbeknownst to him, a donor played a fake bomb threat message that sent a classroom into a temporary panic. He was subsequently arrested and is now facing criminal charges. It seems odd to me given that he didn't violate any law by just streaming other people's lines. Getting reactions is not tantamount to making fake bomb threats. Should have told people not to panic and apologized. Especially since the dude is arabic looking, like being a white person and saying anything racist, even in jest, can have horrible consequences. Certain ethnicities have to walk on eggshells with certain situations, this was one of them. That said, I'm still not sure how much blame he personally deserves. All he's doing is giving a platform to the people that are actually causing the problems. Would it not make sense to let him continue, but criminally prosecute everyone who uses his platform to commit a crime? His stream would die pretty quickly in that case without anyone having to intervene specifically, plus it'd allow a number of troublemakers to be suitably punished until they clued in that leaving a digital paper trail behind a bomb threat is a bad idea. --- This is my signature. That said, I'm still not sure how much blame he personally deserves. All he's doing is giving a platform to the people that are actually causing the problems. Would it not make sense to let him continue, but criminally prosecute everyone who uses his platform to commit a crime? His stream would die pretty quickly in that case without anyone having to intervene specifically, plus it'd allow a number of troublemakers to be suitably punished until they clued in that leaving a digital paper trail behind a bomb threat is a bad idea.</quote> ...
