Some of those need context though. For instance the second one was taken prior to the invasion of Normandy IIRC.

Ever heard of Mad Jack Churchill?
He was a British Army officer who fought throughout the Second World War armed with a longbow, bagpipes, and a basket-hilted Scottish broadsword.

The point that I've already made and that needs to be understood is that Battlefield V is more of a "WWII-themed game" than a straight-up literal interpretation of the conflict. It's an entertainment product build around a concept derived from the war, rather than a serious portrayal. If people want to be upset about something, maybe "turning the deadliest conflict in human history into a game" would be a better thing to go with...

I had family in WWII and I'm okay with making it an entertainment product, but I felt the need to address that.

Just call it alt-history and judge it on quality. Since when do games need to have perfect historical accuracy anyway?

I don't really see the point in making a historically themed game or other entertainment if you're not gonna be respectful to the time and be as historically accurate as you can, within reason.

I can also find lots of pictures of black people fighting for Germany in ww2. It was mainly in the Free Arabian Legion and it wasn't widespread. It is politicizing a game to show all these special examples. People game and use other entertainment to get out of the current reality. So no shit they get pissed when people are politicizing it with current politics.

The issue people have with Battlefield V isn't just the out of place races and sexes in the WW2 setting, when Battlefield games usually attempt to portray some extent of narrative realism.

It's that these already out of place characters look like Kratos, Fallout, and Fortnite characters.

And many people don't want to see every publisher jump on board the battle royal bandwagon.

It's all these things combined that caused an outcry.

If they had more tact, and it was out of place races and sexes for WW2, but they were all wearing accurate WW2 equipment that most soliders wore like most Battlefield characters do in Battlefield games instead being bizarre crazy stylish, most people probably wouldn't have cared.

But they wouldn't be able to attract the attention of Fortnite players and sell micro transaction cosmetics that way.

The problem when you start playing loose with history and calling it accurate is it opens up the door for historical revision. A lot of the female in combat roles that the Soviets pushed was pure propaganda. There wasn't people on the front lines with prosthetic limbs fighting. Squads were not racially diverse, the US forces were still segregated.

As for the pictures of katana's in OPs post. What are you trying to prove here? After the war the Japanese had to surrender all weapons including swords. Nobody was running around with a katana in Europe in 1944.

Not just that, but from what i understand, it was a very, *very* small regimen of Russian women that fought.

No, it is about the attack the last place people could escape from the subversion tactics of the cultural marxists. The commies pushed a the line to hard and fast. Just like they did in 1917-1923. Yet again they have awakened an extreme counter reaction. That is was you get if you don't even let people paint and walk around in Italy.

Hopefully you are another one waking up to the mass revisionisms going on in the country right now.

I wish it didnt take untill altering game design to capite the attention of people but I just hope they stop being so subtle about it so more people realize and fight before its too late and we dont know who we are anymore.

Polish cavalry used the Szabla wz. 34 sword during the whole WWII.
From the Invasion of Poland in 1939 until the Battle of Schoenfeld in March 1945.
China used the Dao and Miao Dao swords and the Qiang spear.
Japan used the Gunt swords.
