The game you're looking for is Ace Attorney, which is highly praised. Part of Detroit involves a lot of investigation sequences in the vein of Ace Attorney albeit even more in depth. The game is praised for doing that well. Seems dumb to arbitrarily assume people are bias in that way without even knowing what it's about. Well, okay, maybe not critics, but instead talking head youtube "critics" and message board trolls. Coffee isn't working its magic fast enough this morning. If anything "youtube critics" are more inclined to be attached to anime games more than any other crowd. It's the big guys like IGN and the like that generally dislike those games. Trolls will always be trolls though. Also the game is very extreme and hamfisted with its plots, themes and characters. David Cage is a pretty polarizing figure in general so it's not surprising there's a lot of divide between critics. I'm excited to play it. Gonna play through myself and then watch my wife go through it.
