Also, I have to question why they brought David and Kelley back in a season like that. They looked terrible on day 38 with normal rations. Imagine what they'd look like if they get voted out early merge and stay until the challenge.

This is also going to REALLY invalidate the jury voote because most jurors will be missing a LOT of the game AND tribal councils. At least on RI seasons there were only one or two jurors who were on RI for a significant amount of time.

An inconsistency I noticed with the last two seasons.

When Ben played his idol before the vote in HHH, Jeff confirmed it immediately.

When Domenick played his fake one before the vote in GI, Jeff didn't say anything until after the votes were cast.

Jeff made a mistake in one of those scenarios. Personally I believe it was the first. Since idols are meant to be played after the vote anyway, if someone jumps the gun he ought to just leave it on the podium until after the votes are cast and then officially accept or reject it.

iv been listening to Taran's BBCAN6 juror interviews and they've been really good. Gave a lot of insight into why they voted the way they did, and it doesn't seem like anyone was bitter except Ryan. I hope it gives all the people upset about the "bitter" jury a bit of insight... but I'm not hopeful. Johnny carefully and methodically tore Brent's butthurt attitude apart but Brent wasn't actually listening so none of it really stuck, and I'm sure the fanbase is the same.

I'm about to start Paras's interview. Over 3 hours, yikes. I can't wait.

I've been slowly listening to Paras's interview too. A lot of it is Taran going over the season to Paras, particularly early on when she doesn't remember much.

I listened to Ryan's interview and ehhh, he was better in the edit (go figure). I've been working through Johnny too, haven't gotten to Brent yet but not a lot sticks with Brent, he just gets set on one track and goes hard. It's great when you're on the same track but difficult to listen to when you're not.

I don't think bitter is the right word, but I do think that Kaela's game was downplayed and Paras' game was overrated by the jury. Ryan was bitter; I don't think bitter describes Maddie or Will, they're just strong alliance members and voting for who they knew best. Johnny, Olivia, and Ali are the three you can consider bitter, and I think they were open-minded enough that it could've swayed to Kaela if she performed better and Paras performed worse or there was a better advocate for Kaela.

Brent is the bitter one; he really holds it against Maddie that she likely helped Paras win, despite what people say in the post game interviews. Don't listen to the latest roundtable if you don't want to hear a 90 minute rant about Maddie poisoning the jury and Johnny voting wrong.

dammit Naomi I still wish you had followed along the feeds the first 7 weeks or so!

Just listened to the Johnny interview and he was enjoyable, really great insight from a jurors perspective who covers all the bases of his thought process.

Like I said about Brent, when your opinions dont align, hes a bit insufferable. When they do align hes the best thing. See BB19. I listened just for Brent. Now I want him banished on all things BBCAN6.

Paras played a superior game, end of. When Kaela is in a F3 and loses to both parties 6-1, thats bad. Big Brother/Survivor is about fostering positive relations with your fellow players. You can blindside and backstab and outmaneuver everyone all day, but if you fail to recognize who they are as people, what they value as competitors, what their vote likely hinges on most, then youre playing a poor game. This is the fabled jury management finessing your game to those around you. Kaela admits she never did that and she paid for it. Johnny respected Paras for at the very least appearing to possess more of this finesse.

Russell Hantz never got this either. Brent doesnt get it. A lot of people dont and instead go on about bitter players like its some sort of indictment. Enjoy your silver medal, all while not realizing the Queen doesnt just go one direction on the chess board.

Im ranting but ultimately Johnny gets it, Brent doesnt.

Definitely agree that the jury underrated Kaela's game and overrated Para's game. This is a direct result of the jury trying to rationalize voting for Paras when in actuality it had a lot less to do with their gameplay (strategy/comps) and came down to the simple fact they liked Paras more than Kaela. Johnny, Will, Maddie and Ryan were all voting for Paras regardless of what Kaela did and had nothing to do with them being bitter except for Ryan, he was definitely still salty. Kaela could have won the Final HoH and cut Derek and they still would have voted for Paras. As for Olivia and Ali, I could be completely wrong here, but I get the impression that they knew the votes were going towards Paras and just voted with the majority. At the end of the day, Big Brother/Survivor are popularity contests and if you're social game sucks you're going to lose.

I blame that on Taran. He argues with Brent unnecessarily just to extend the podcast when they don't have a lot of questions from the chat and twitter. He did the same thing with Brent after the premiere as well. Its too bad, because Brent and Taran usually work really well off of each another when they get a good discussion going and act as a good counter balance to one another. They need to find someone that is a nice balance between the overly emotional Brent and the overly analytical Taran. Melissa doesn't work in that role, she is more often than not just the emotional echo of Brent.

Brent gets it, I mean he was on the other side of the jury management argument during BB19. He's biased towards kaela and that's the only reason he's arguing against jury management and bitter juries this time around. He acknowledges as much during that final roundtable. Speaking of Russell, having just finished rewatching his first two seasons, it amuses me greatly that he actually thought he could completely tank his social game and end up winning.

I loved Brent on the Day 2 podcast!

Kaela is no Russell Hantz and that's what makes it hard for some people. Russell possibly "played a better game" but he was just toxic as a person. I don't see toxicity in Kaela, which makes it harder to say Paras played a better game.

Case and point, Tony was just as aggressive as Russell strategically, but actually sat down with every single member of the jury and got to know them as a person.

I'm rewatching Caramoan for the first time. I made it to about halfway through the meltdown episode last night and then fell asleep... I think that sums up the season pretty well.
