They're likely waiting to see if Hemsworth will do any more Thor movies. If he does, they'll make something up. If not, they'll just say they were killed off screen.

Valkyrie is confirmed to have survived - by Joe Russo - with the half of the Asgardians that Thanos allowed to live, we just didn't see them cause they'd already evacuated.

He played coy when asked about Korg though and wouldn't give a straight answer.

Just saw, it was entertaining but felt way too shallow

Main things that I'll elaborate on later
1. Thanos was the only real character
2. Doctor Strange's 1 chance vision is so lazy
3. Why the FUCK did they let Ironman live

It's weird, I think this is all fair, but I still LOVED this movie and can't stop thinking about it

Gamora's character arc was pretty neat, what with finding she actually did care about Thanos and vice versa, right in time for none of it to matter

I kinda laughed when Gamora was basically calling Thanos a punk ass bitch and a failure and then he just scoops her up and chucks her off a mountain and gets his stone.

That reveal was way too obvious. From the audience's view at least. From Gamora's view it must have been pretty surprising.

After the reality stone, it was all over for everyone pretty much. They said with 2 stones he was the most powerful being in the universe, so with 3 there was no way he would lose. The only question was whether he would be able to get the others at all, which is why the soul stone was the most interesting one (and to some extent the mind stone, if we hadn't just seen him get the time stone).

So if Thanos only wanted to kill half the people in the universe because there weren't enough resources to go around, once he had the unlimited power of all six Infinity Stones, why didn't he just create unlimited resources

Like I get that before he had the Stones, it was much more feasible to commit genocide than double the food production of every world. But with the Stones he can do anything, so why does it have to be murder

I think he needs to be honest with himself and admit that he's just in it for the killing

A better question is if you really think every single planet has twice the population it needs, or why you'd think it wouldn't just get into the same problem in a few decades when the population doubles again.

Yeah the details break down instantly when you think about it. But the overall idea is "balance" which is taken literally to mean 50% dead by sheer chance. Not just because of resources but also balance of ideas and culture and such probably.

I think if he died himself after the act then it would lend a lot more weight to his motive. But for now he definitely just looks bloodthirsty and misguided.

Also I do wish there had been more focus on the snap, but oh well

Here's some things that had me hype af

-Cap and Panther running side by side ahead of the crowd (that's leadership right there)
-Bucky spin shooting with Rocket
-Thor's arrival in Wakanda (one of the best entrances in any Marvel movie I think)
-The comedy was good, Drax was on point (I felt he was too much in GotG2 but I just didn't like that movie)
-Iron Spider suit was awesome, as was Tony's new nanotech
-Thanos beating the crap out of Hulk
-Peter Dinklage as a dwarf giant
-Cap stepping out of the shadows (honorable mention "I am Steve Rogers")
-Thor being serious Thor and not goofball Thor (Ragnarok is still a great movie though)
-Dr. Strange going one one one with Thanos (of course the entire battle on Titan was amazing)
-Thanos dropping a fucking moon on the heroes

Russo bros really know what they're doing, the action and fight choreography in their movies is far superior to the rest of the MCU.

Best fight was definitely Strange vs Thanos. In general I like how they blended the styles and cinematography of the different movies into one, but the Doctor Strange style is obviously the best so that fight was gonna be the best no matter what.

I just wish Thanos actually suplexed the entire moon instead of just chunks. It was already a totally anime fight.

It's not even about balance

That's him justifying shit to himself after the fact imo. He's a violent, prideful monster who can't get over the fact that his people on Titan rejected his plan and now wants to enact that plan on a universal level to wash away his failure and prove that he was right.

The stuff about saving the universe to me just came off as his delusional attempt to justify his pride, his arrogance, and his natural inclination towards violence and death.

I don't know if he really cares about this plan in particular, as much as he is obsessed with the concept of will. He knows it's an insane and horrible plan and that it would end up destroying his home and killing Gamora and such, but he still went through with all of it, because he wants to be the strongest will in the universe.

That theme is really relevant in modern society where we idolize anyone who has a strong will, regardless of what their will is actually leading towards. Making tough choices is seen as an inherently valuable skill, whether its a CEO firing a bunch of people, or a politicians dropping a bunch of bombs. There's this culture of "well, someone has to do it" and no one actually stops to think whether it even has to be done.
