This is also important to distinguish, seph. If people actually think this, then maybe you should take steps to lay out what exactly makes someone terrible in your eyes. If it's "People like hitler who wanted to eradicate people" then that's not nearly as bad as "someone who's of the opposite political affiliation to me."

The issue here is that most people certainly seem to have read it as though what he wants is that second thing you listed, myself included. In my personal opinion, if you are going through the trouble of making it known you want to "hurt" someone, then the implication there is that you want to hurt them in a meaningful way; something that'll last. Stepping on a lego might hurt for a few seconds, then you're fine. Knocking a few teeth out of their mouth, on the other hand, would fit more in line with what I would think "hurting" someone means.

If someone did one of the things you listed, yes, I would probably feel some release in beating the shit out of them. But I would probably feel bad later. "Someone I dislike" can be as insignificant as someone whose behavior I find mildly irritating, in which case no I would not enjoy beating them up at all.

I'm sure there's some catharsis, but I doubt my emotions would be described as feeling particularly "good." Feeling angry and seeking retribution doesn't feel good at all, but it can be the best way to release emotions that might crush you otherwise.

Yes. That's why we raise kids not to do it. Without that education, people would be happy to hurt people they didn't like, but if you're raised well you'll feel disgust from hurting people at all.
