500% increase in operating profit lol. Best Q4 since the Wii era. Also apparently they're publishing the TWEWY remaster outside of Japan which is interesting.

The Switch has sold 14.86 million, which is more than the Wii U's entire lifetime sales.

That's a lot of copies of Super Mario Odyssey (over 9 million in two months). Mario Kart 8 passed BotW which is mildly surprising. But the main reason I made this topic is because Xenoblade Chronicles 2 broke a million, and that's awesome.

XBC2's success is a good thing, I'm happy to think we'll be seeing a sequel and possibly some ports of 1 and X. I never actually finished X and I really would love to play 1 again without having to use a Wii or the 3DS nub.

It's 200k behind in addition to having US/UM. Pokmon is doing the best it's done in a decade. I think the Switch iteration will really break out.

A few other points:

-In the time it took Odyssey to sell 9 million, 3D World sold 1.8. If Odyssey trends like 3D World, it will sell 27 million which is... Hilarious.
-Digital sales are up 87%.
-The Switch has 8 million selling first party titles in 10 months. Has any other system done this?

Splatoon series hitting 10 million is a pretty big accomplishment. It quickly became one of Nintendo's biggest games.

dude it sold 5 million copies last year. they're still releasing substantial updates. you'll be able to find games until a year after Splatoon 3 comes out.

To be fair, it only had a year before the "superior versions" came out, and a little over half a year before they were announced.

Plus XY are the only games in the series that never had a third version/sequel to split sales with. If Z had been a thing, or USUM weren't a thing, I fully expect SM would've overtaken them by now.

Pokemon Sun & Moon was hugely successful. It sold 14.7M in its first two months on the market. It was the biggest hit Pokemon has had since G/S

I'm nearing the end of Xenoblade 2 now

the story stays good throughout but the battle system really gets amazing once you start maxing out affinity charts and find ways to almost completely eradicate cooldowns

I think this also makes XB2 the most successful Xenoblade game so far, since neither X nor XBC hit a million sales? It has a big advantage coming out early in a console's lifespan in terms of potential future sales too, so it could eventually surpass Xenosaga 1 and become the best-selling Xeno-game ever.

Yup, it should pass Metroid's entire series sales with a third game. Splatoon bigger than Metroid.

For that matter, Xenoblade Chronicles bigger than Metroid.

Yup the highest selling is I believe Xenogears with 1.2 million. This should easily pass that, and likely end up around 2 million.

Do we have actual numbers for Xenosaga 1? That runs contrary to what others are saying.

Also on this subject it's significant because almost 80% of its sales came from outside Japan.

Metorid was never a huge Nintendo series sales wise. Like it wouldn't break the top 10 if you divide Mario spin-offs enough times.
