Viola and Talim are hard to imagine fitting into the story since Talim is like 11 or something in this game and I always assumed Viola was Amy in disguise (but i guess that was never really confirmed).

And there are a LOT of newcomers this time, that is true.

but it's soulcalibur hype, i don't need rumors to make sense to make me happy

Really, the one that made me start shaking my head was Heihachi and then it was all downhill from there. Clown Voldo also seems weird, don't know that it really suits his lore. No Siegfried is also really suspicious to me.

I'd very much enjoy this roster so I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see it.

this was pretty much as confirmed as it got without actually being confirmed. from clothing similarities to little hints to it in dialogue with Raphael, same voice actresses, Viola having amnesia, etc. and i assume they would have paid more attention to it in that story mode they would have fleshed out if namco didn't hate soulcalibur.

looking at this list now for the first time, i'm not buying it unless they literally retcon viola to be a different person after obviously intending to have them be the same.

Siegfried is literally Nightmare at this point in the story so I have no problem with him being a costume swap option of Nightmare, just like SC2.

I think I like Cassandra, but I can never remember for sure if it's her or Sophitia that I play as.

I like Hilde and Setsuka too, but I guess losing them wouldn't be a huge deal. This rumored cast would actually be really good. It's got everyone important.

We already know that Siegfried is definitely still in the Nightmare armor at this point since it shows him, so Siegfried himself missing would be much less weird, now.
