Yes I'm glad he's fired but i'd wanted a different showrunner No View Results Fans have been long asking for the FIRING of showrunner Scott Gimple after he killed off several beloved main characters, including the shocking exit of a main character who recently took a dig at the show writing "Walking Dead only has a few seasons left" and his father called the producers TRASH for his son's firing.. The show was renewed for a 9th season as Walking Dead Writer Angela Kang will takeover and Scott will now be Chief Content Officer. Angela was promoted as AMC Boss Charlie Collier said her contribution tot the show has been significant and say she will lead the show to a new direction. Ratings have been declining since Gimple took over from Glen Mazzara and from original showrunner Frank Darabont.. Fans have been furious over the firing of several beloved characters and will now be relieved that Gimple will no longer run the show but the damage may have been done as character exits will still follow through to the end of the season and no doubt Angela will have a tough road ahead to steer the show to a new direction that is accepted by fans and to stop the hemmoraging of ratings. The most recent one was NOT that beloved and they aren't even gone quite yet.
