Actually, people's views and beliefs are deeply-rooted and often beyond their own control.

For example, you probably can't suddenly start to believe that the Earth is or isn't flat, or that God does or doesn't exist. Your views on these subjects are influenced by a lifetime of experience that your brain is unlikely to discard without convincing evidence.

I think a stronger argument would be to say that there is a problem when people's beliefs or traits cause harm to others.
