I had to get a key copied that said DO NOT COPY. I thought I'd be clever by using an automatic machine to do the copying, but it required a store employee to okay the transaction by inspecting the key.

So I showed her a different key and claimed it was the one I put in the machine.

Am I going to jail?

It's a master key for one of the apartment buildings my dad owns. It opens the exterior doors, the laundry room door, the basement door, and the apartment my grandfather used to live in (he was very lazy, as you can guess).

My grandfather bought a bunch of buildings in the 1940s after getting back from WWII. At the time the buildings were worthless, but over time the areas became better and now they're valuable. After he died, they passed to my dad.
