You actually contacted Amazon and told them that you received the books...?

...

This seems like a really simple problem that you made extra complicated. I ordered a Kindle from Amazon and I found the package ripped open when I got home. I called support and told them that it was delivered successfully but the merchandise was stolen and they sent me a 2nd one with no questions asked. I've never had any problems with their customer service.

I try to be an honest, decent human being, yes.

Unless there I missed that you DID reorder the items...

Amazon is rescinding the refund after I told them I got the stuff, actually.

I've been having an issue with Amazon a lot lately where they keep delivering my stuff to my neighbour instead of me, and I don't understand how that could possibly happen.

I live at house number 54, and my neighbour is 54A. On the surface it seems like an easy mistake to make, but I have a large plaque on my house that says "54", visible from orbit, and my neighbour has no indication of a house number anywhere on their house. It's almost impossible to even get to my neighbour's door without seeing the "54" sign next to my door.

This only happens when it's Amazon's own courier delivering the item, and it happens every time. Canada Post and UPS have never made the mistake.

I don't really understand how any of this is a 'Fuck Amazon' sort of scenario.

Like, can you not understand that regardless of who's fault it is, the whole situation was frustrating?

And can you not understand that from my perspective, Amazon did something completely unnecessary and out of left field after I told them I was working with USPS on the issue?

And can you not understand why I, at a time that I'm actually normally in bed for the night, would want to vent and get things off my chest?

No one's denying your frustration, just that Amazon doesn't seem remotely to be at fault. It's more like a no-fault situation. The fact that you're holding them accountable for their customer service seems almost like parody.

But Amazon is a faceless corporation full of evil robots with no emotion so why would you care about being honest to them? Wasn't that what you were implying about their company and customer service?

Yeah, and I've already acknowledged this after sleeping on it and calming down.

Don't really appreciate the cheap shots and lazy trolling accusations (from other guys, not you two) though.

Amazon's in-house courier has been complete garbage every time I've been assigned them on an order. They'll do stuff like mark packages as delivered without actually delivering them. Amazon has a reputation for treating their employees a bit badly and maybe this is an area where its coming back to bite them.

Maybe this doesn't apply to you, but I live in a huge city that also has the Amazon Now program, so I suspect it's a combination of delivery people being stretched thin and my apartment complex being complete ass in terms of deliveries. Plus I know from working in a restaraunt using Amazon for deliveries that they don't seem to give a shit about the Restaraunt part of the app and don't make sure all of their drivers have hot bags.

so you appreciate them somewhat tho?

1) I acknowledge Amazon has an excellent reputation for customer service
2) My only previous experience with them was average (simple issue, resolved in a timely manner). I am hesitant to trust things like this on reputation alone, even when I'm lacking my own experience. Hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

Bonus:
3) My understanding is that Amazon's reputation is largely based on their willingness to throw around free stuff (including shipping and months of prime)
4) My current experience with them completely contradicts (3).

Also you said earlier that I've spent more time in this topic than on the actual issue. This is true, but:
1) Last night was me venting about the issue in the immediate aftermath. I felt better for doing so.
2) Today is me clearing the air, calming down and acknowledging that the situation was basically my fault instead of Amazon's, and slacking off at work when I'm already way ahead on things

So yeah...
