Never did play past AW2, I was working on using GotM to 100% different parts of the series and go on to the next one, so as the nominations stick, I'll continue onto this game in time... but for now, I haven't. This song starts off well with kind of the Hawaiian tune, but shortly after that ends... it's not much of a song. Minimal background with an electric guitar doing nothing. Just an average song in the end despite having a unique beginning.

The large weakness to this song... is the fact that it was made to become bgm. Especially a boss fight. Each part of the song works well together, but the video game bgm creates one costly mistake... the vocals lack a lot of presence. It's kind of like when your motivational speaker starts mumbling during a speech. Sure, it's probably a good speech... TOO BAD I CAN'T HEAR IT. Not to mention you know this game is kind of a beat-em-up thing, the vocals will be muffled even further behind and the song doesn't work as simply the rock instruments part. Eventually I'll get to LPs of Metal Gear and beyond... then be less "I dunno" regarding the characters.

To say it quickly, it just doesn't work for me. I don't really like the fact that it mixes a rock song with orchestral strings and then even a piano in the background. The time when I like orchestral stuff, it's far from the same genre as a rock band. The song's just average to me, that's all. And obviously we already saw I don't know BlazBlue characters. Here's one of the 5.5s that I truly like, know flat out nothing about. I was able to deduce from comments in the video that Tor's the final boss of Iji, so I started judging the song as a final boss theme and... Well... The song kind of died. There's like the upwards of a minute, close to two minutes where it basically isn't doing all that much, and just ends up a mellow song. I essentially gave up on it because of how long that part lasted, even if it did start ramping up towards the end. The fact that it did gave it this placement... since all these same rankings kind of just deal with minor preferences and the unmarked decimals that exist, but... it never rose from being simply my average rating.

This honestly is a song that loses points strictly because it needs context. I cannot completely tell if it's a boss fight, or simply some tense scene. I'd probably like it if I understood the scenario, but right now confusion on what it's supposed to represent actually just puts it here. Actually pushes the Paper Mario series to one I'll watch LPs of sooner rather than later (well, actually it put them on my list to actually watch, rather than not on any at all).

Isn't she basically Dr. Light's maid too? basically, not literally

I think that was the first time Id ever heard a vocalized theme in a fighter. It somewhat blew me away at the time.

After going after a picture and then seeing one thing... I wonder if it's better that I don't know the character. Persona games, much like Disgaea are things that if I owned them... I'd probably play them in an instant. Maybe not finish them in a timely manner, but definitely play them pretty quickly. The song is... well, it has good points, and then it has bleh points. Melody starts off nice and randomly has moments of being good with the vocals, but outside of the good moments it's not that enjoyable or something I'd listen to that often, so the average rating hits here.

Won't go for pictures since ya know... if you know the series, you know not to hunt down images if you don't know much. I do know random spoilers... so I actually chose to go to the trivia section. First went to read something from one character, then noticed the trivia for Okay, everyone (which made me learn that there are versions for every character and... well, read on). There are two weaknesses to having this song on this list. First of all, every version of this song is fairly different and is meant to represent the character. Not having heard all four versions... I don't know those differences. Yuri's song has this subtlety to her melody that is drowned out by the main melody to the song. Second... I don't know the characters. I literally saw her name and thought she was pink haired until I saw a meme and realized her name was Natsuki... realizing eventually that Yuri=black haired girl. I don't have an appeal to the song because I don't get how it represents her character. Similar to most VN character songs... you gotta know the character to really get the song.

Cuphead seems interesting, checked out two people playing and instantly got hooked despite how bad I am at platformers. Just, as we just had a jazz song place... it's just... It's another song I have to be in a mood for, and the song will typically ruin that mood. It starts off great lyrically and then just turns into a repeating mess for the last minute. Would have been nice if they added another creative verse, rather than "don't mess with King Dice." Poor trdl, both times he's had songs drop, it's been two in a row. Will this be three in a row and eliminate him, or will he be safe for another day... or week... or so?

I never expected much out of this song, YGO as a whole never really has had great music regardless of video games or the animes. Even here, I heard this song and felt more like I was hearing the theme for like an Ancient Gear deck, some machine based deck since it's all factory sounds and the like. Not literally Blue Eyes. As easy to know, I know Kaiba from the anime. The games always take those characters and kind of one-dimensionalize them, since they don't usually have the story development and they don't want to deviate and create different development than the show might build. So, even though I don't think Kaiba's a bad character, he's not too much of an interesting one as he only really plays the role of Yugi's major rival.
