Got Eiko's USB on a crystal tower 100 gem draw, which is cool. I think the last time I got anything decent from a 100 gem was the 30th anniversary fest.

After that miraculous first run against Malaris I had a lot of trouble staying alive when I tried to do it again. Eventually I rearranged my team to include last stand but the clear was a much slower 34.97. Might be worth grabbing Tidus's LMR after all.

I did the Crystal Tower, this was actually pretty tough as each boss has a gimmick so you really need to think about which character to bring along.

Atlas was dumb, he's way too fast for how much spams dispells. I didn't master him because I thought Vaan was enough DPS and my teammates were breakers and healers. I also wanted to save my big DPS like Tidus and Bartz for other fights.

I got the 4 hit earth spellblade from the Type-0 event and I can consistently sub30 Hydra no, I now have level 80 Hydra and Emil magicite so I'll try to see if I can sub30 Bismack now. I want to go after Marilis but the only water magicite I have is two Bismarck from the first fight...

Also what's the deal with Meia? Her event still isn't datamined and apparently there's something wonky with her relics on the FF1 Thief banners. They translated some of her relics before but she still isn't playable.

Even though it is 24 seconds, it's still very luck based. Lightning has to get a few doublecasts and Orlandeau needs to have most of his OSBs be crits. And I have to juggle entrusting Orlandeau and Rosa. I also don't have Lightning's USB so I have to rely on her OSB even through it's not that good, but it does do 50000 if it gets a crit.

Just leaves Fenrir left as the only *3 Magicite I haven't sub30'd yet, ironically he was the first one I beat. I'm going to wait until I have enough *5 Bravery motes to get OK's doublecast Black Magic Legend Materia first.

I think I can improve some of my times as I not have OK's ninja USB, which will give me crits if nothing else. Means I'll have to focus on physical teams if I can. Rosa USB has been MVP of my 4 Magicite teams so far (Liquid Flame, Sealion, Golem, Bismark).

I ended up doing the selection draw... I know before I said I wasn't going to, but then they released the 4* Magicites a week early and I'm actually really happy with the game right now so I decided to spend the money.

Anyway, went 1/11 with a duplicate Yda SSB which is junk. But I grabbed Tidus's Armguards, and the +water armor may be more valuable than the LMR. I might even do a second draw but I haven't decided yet between Edge's Jacket, Lightning's dualcast LMR, or something else.

Got a 24.89 Malaris. I'm pretty happy about that - I know a much better time is possible if I had OK ninja USB and LMR, but I'm still happy.

Now I need to figure out how to beat any of the other ones.

Beat Fenrir for the first time! Time of 38.43. I know I can sub 30 this, because I literally did 85% of this battle with 4 characters, only Ayame being a DPS. Squall was hit by a 6.5k bite before Elarra's wall was up, and was killed by savage withering winds before Rosa could use her USB. I don't have his BSB2, but I have his unique that grants en-ice, his OSB, and his USB, not to mention the possibility of dual casting SSS's, so I know that would've helped a bit. Got the Fenrir magicite (and a second copy as a first time reward), but I really want Enkidu, so I'm going to fight him a few more times, both for the sub 30 and Enkidu.

Edit: Team was Ayame (40% ice boost, even though one is Lulu's armor which gives no attack boost), Squall (20% ice boost), Onion Knight (pUSB), Ramza (entrusting Ayame), and Rosa (USB). Ayame, Squall, and OK are all legend dived.

Ugh the wind barrier that Sealion gives blocks the damage from savage withering winds, but not the slow apparently, as Ayame got slowed. Thankfully, that (and Rosa dying) happened right at the end, as I killed Fenrir with a Squall OSB (crit 83k) at 26.42. Even better, Enkidu was the magicite that dropped! I think this is a pretty reliable sub 30, as I didn't get many double casts. Just Hydra to go from the initial 6.

Oh man, I hate Fenrir so much. I think my best time is still like a 48. I got 4 of each wind Magicite and haven't touched him again in months. I really need a good ice banner.

Ayame's burst is definitely key to this. If I had Squall's BSB2 also, it would be total obliteration. Improved my time to 24.79 (got my 3rd Fenrir Magicite). I have quick hit on OK, which I've successfully used to get rid of his physical blink every time except once (that time it was a Ramza lifesiphon). My last run, I blocked each of the 3 (or 4?) savage withering winds that came my way, doing that is pretty key also.

Going to go through the Type 0 event to get the 5* earth spellblade, then try to put together a Hydra team centred on Bartz USB. I have Maria BSB too, but hybrid teams don't fair very well in Magicite normally because of the buffs needed for each.

Okay I caved on dream draw and got sent grimoire.

I got locke's fire dagger which is cool for future diversity.

Don't think anything else is dire enough for me to spend money on although I do use Tidus so his legend probably is useful.

I use hybrid teams a lot but it depends what buffs you have available. If you have Fabula Raider it makes things easier. But if you have Onion pUSB it might be better to just go all physical.

Yeah, and if I go fabula raider, then I likely have to make a spot for Tyro on my team for wall. What I've gone with is 2 DPS, 1 booster (used to be Ramza, now is OK), 1 entruster (used to be OK, now is Ramza), and a healer (so far, Rosa USB master race). I'm likely to go more magical when I get to holy/dark, mainly to centre around Raines, so that may be a thing to look at.

Finally managed to beat Kraken... it took a lot of tries and I ended up using a two white mage setup. Time was 43.91, so it's got a lot of room for improvement. When I tried to fit Shantotto's chain in there I just didn't have enough defense to stay alive, but I need it if I want a sub-30 kill.

Hydra down! Time wasn't great, 44:46, but it's done. No earth boosting gear at all, and sticking with an all physical team was tough due to lack of a good secondary DPS. Used Tifa, who wasn't bad (the shield from her USB was helpful), but even Bartz wasn't doing crazy damage. Will worry about sub 30ing him later, just happy he's outta the way. Shadow and Mist Dragons both available. Time to build teams around Raines.

I 100 gem'd a dupe Ace USB, I guess that's not too bad. Would have like his OSB instead for the +10 magic but it's better than 4/3* trash.

Ultimates mastered, easy but they were actually easier than the first Type-0 event (through I guess it's to be expected in a post magicite/OK USB era)

General Bashtar died really quick to Bartz' multicast Snowspell Strikes with Prompto's burst, even with a bow he was capping, and Bashtar didn't even rise into the air before I killed him.

Flyvern's sorta annoying because he resists all elements except poison and holy and is weak to dark, but in a Cid mission the Type-0 characters' only option is Ultima Weapon (or darka lol) since none of the current characters have Darkness abilities. But since you only have to bring 3 T0 characters Cid Raines can carry this fight with his burst and the T0 guys can summon or heal.

Shinryu Celestia I think may be the easiest Apocalypse yet, even easier than that fat priest from that FFT event. At first he's kinda intimidating because his def/res is like magicite level and he has no weakness, but then another target appears (a killsight, whatever that is) and he falls down, his defenses plummet and he didn't attack for the rest of the fight. Maybe it was because I was using a speed mage team of Ace, Terra, Raines, OK and Relm but I'm shocked to see a boss these days pull a Dahaka and just roll over like that.

Alright!!! I cleared Isgebind (46.22) and I think this might be my proudest clear because I don't have great fire SBs but I got creative with my strategy and it worked. My best fire SB by far is Papalymo's BSB, so the party was just built around keeping him alive and letting him get as many casts off as quickly as possible with party instant cast. The team was:

Papalymo - Meltdown R3 - Enochian Firaja - Scholar's Boon RM (full legend dive)
Edge - Smoldering Fire R3, Smoldering Fire R2 - Eblan Doppelganger - Ace Striker RM
Ramza - Entrust, Wrath R5 - History's Truth - Mako Might RM
Raijin - Fires Within R3, Meteor Crush R2 - Aura - Battleforged RM
Y'Shtola - Curada R3, Protectga - Asylum, Stoneskin II - Dr. Mog's Teachings RM

RW: Fabula Raider

Edge was the secondary DPS and kept the team alive with blink/last stand, which also prevented most of the paralyze attacks. The interesting thing about this team was Raijin, who I've basically never used before - a second source of last stand gave us an extra safety net, and a second source of party instant actions (along with Ramza) made us a lot faster so we could actually get there relying on Papalymo's burst actions.

From what I know about the game:

Like Record Keeper, the gacha is on equipment and you get characters through story and events.

There's also no stamina in the game, but I also heard that the game can be very grindy.

Also from the trailer, it looks like the characters will only have their Japanese voices.

earth is my worst element and holy is probably third-worst (after fire) so i definitely have a lot of anticipation for it

the lucky draw too, actually. has a ton of fire on it and features a lot of my favorites. despite this, i have a surprisingly low number of dupes (40, which out of 235 isn't that bad i think).

i did everything yesterday. atlas and non-jumpstart-version of Type-0 Apoc+ both gave me quite a bit of trouble. in the end my usual strategy of entrusting Tidus turn 1 and having him powerchain into CSB prevailed, with a lot of fails trying to use lifesiphon on him. the other tower bosses were pretty easy, though i did have to re-do ultima weapon once because i brought no breaks and flare star killed everyone. it was kinda cool being able to bring characters like Steiner with snowspell strike and Terra with meltdown, who i don't have any good SBs for but could still contribute thanks to super realm synergy.

FFXII torment was kinda funny. in the d200 i forgot to bring dispel, and had to kill Mateus about half with Ashe USB casts, gaining meter by nuking down the adds. Vaan and Reks combined for the other half with their BSBs, Penelo and Larsa both with their BSBs as well. then i barely needed to change parties for d250, just replacing Reks with Ramza and bringing dispel. and literally didn't change parties at all from d250 to 300.

type-0 U++ Cid Mission was also funny. Raines flat-out nuked the thing, but Machina with OK BSB doing the cmnd1->full charge rotation and Ace spamming ultima weapon/bahamut weren't totally awful. might have even been able to CM5 the thing if any of them could use full break.

Oh, I know that feeling. I used 250 mythril on the OK banner, where my consolation prizes were CoD USB and BSB, instead of Cloud USB and Squall BSB.

Luckily I skipped the Tidus banner, so both of his relics would still be major prizes, especially since I have his USB (and OSB).

That banner is such a bite in the ass since I already whaled for most of that stuff. I do really want Squall's BSB2 and the legend materias but I have everything else except Noctis' super. That banner is godlike for newcomers trying to get into high level content.

I did the FF11 d300 CM torment with Prishe, Lion, Ramza, Tyro and that puppeteer chick. I only have relics for Lion and Prishe and they're not that good as DPS but they got the job done under Cloud USB RW. This fight is annoying through because of Seeker's status effects and I had no room for Bartz to kill that bastard quick. But I finally got enough *5 Bravery motes to get OK's black magic doublecast Legend Materia!

I'm gonna try to see if I can sub30 Fenrir when the monthly 20 CM resets.

Hoo-ray! 8/8 *3 magicites sub30'd!



This was actually a lot easier than I expected since Fenrir's damage is puppy compared to Bismarck, I was capping Chain Blizzaga pretty early with Rinoa's chain thanks to Rikku's 6 hit machinist ability. Shelke has mako might and entrusted Rinoa on the first instant, then Onion Knight used Wrath and Shelke used Wrath and entrust on OK to use his Ultra (also if I get slowed from the first savage winds it's overwrites it) then I keep batterying Rosa to blink away future savage winds.

Guess it's time to move on to 4* magicite, but I want to get my Bottomswell magicite to level 80 first, he's at 75 but I ran out of Arcana and I want the Spell defense skill.

Beat my first *4 star Magicite, Marilis, real close to a sub30 but this isn't as easy as it looks since half the time she can kill me if make a wrong entrust between Rosa and Tidus, and I needed dualcasts to get this close.



And this is supposed to be the easiest 4* magicite, sheesh. At least I got a King Bomb from my first kill.

crystal tower is fun imo. 4* magicite though... gave it a shot and noped out of there pretty quick. all these people on the FFRK board talking about how they got Tidus CSB so they can finally sub-30 Marilith and i'm just like... i needed this thing to sub-30 liquid flame and can't even half kill Marilith.
