My Vaan pretty much had to carry the multiplayer party, there was a Squall that had blazing quadstrike and snowspell strike, but no one else had an electric attack so all he could do was resisted snowspell strikes. Other front rows were Onion Knight and Ramza (without BSB2) everyone's back rows were healers. At least the Ramza had entrust to support Vaan.

The FF1 torment opens tomorrow, looks I won't be able to CM the d200 dungeon this time, I can probably do the d300 CM with Garland, WoL and Sarah, though they're gonna hold me back for sure.

That reminds me that they should have released the Meia event around this time for the torment if they're ever going to have it in global, would have been the last time that banner would be any worth anything (just barely at this point) since the Thief banner is coming up soon which is way better and it has Meia relics on it.

Yay, new torment! The XIV one was the easiest one yet by far. Not sure if that's because of my relics or overall power creep or what. FF1 will definitely be tougher but I do have BSBs for WoL and Master Monk and I have some kind of SSB for Sara. I think that'll probably get me through the CMs.

So after thinking about it a little bit:

- Tidus's chain is awesome. My Tidus is already fully dived because I have his USB, OSB, and SSB. And the chain seems like an awesome combo with the 6 hit chase ability on his EX mode.

- Shantotto's chain in theory is powerful, but I'm not sure if I can fit her into my lightning team. Right now my lightning DPS is Lightning with USB+BSB2 combo, and Ashe with BSB. Ashe's BSB gives lightning aura and she's fully dived, so once she goes into burst mode she's hitting for 40k 65% of the time and 80k 35% of the time. I don't think Shantotto tops that unless I also get her USB (which seems amazing). Maybe I can squeeze her in as a 3rd DPS character but I'd either be sacrificing Wall or a buffer to do it.

- Still not sure about Basch, it seems like he might be an upgrade over Beatrix for my Shadow Dragon team but again, she has doublecast and he doesn't. That run doesn't have much margin for error either.

I think Shadow USB is supposed to be good, especially if you have his BSB. The best case where you can keep your blinks up and use dark abilities is insanely good, it's basically thunder god mode + a chase that's about as strong as a 5* ability.

i don't know that there even are any 4*. you need both of the 5*s for the combo to work. R2 is probably enough for the stacking blink, you wanna prioritize the pure damaging one for hones (i don't remember the names offhand).

Just logged in for the first time in a long while. Magicite didn't exist last time I played and we had just got the first legend materia I think. Maybe 6-9 months ago? I got Relm and Golbez USB from the lucky draw, either any good?

The blink ability is Ancestral Reflection. The damaging one is Shadow Embodied.

Shadow USB isn't something you'll want on every fight, but if a boss is mostly magical, it's terrific dps.

The extra attacks have a non-elemental component, and they do a lot of damage, so you can safely use Shadow USB against water-weak bosses too, with the corresponding water ninja abilities. You don't get the quickcast, but it's not a massive difference from my experience. Shadow does fine on Liquid Flame.

yeah my IV synergy is pretty bad now as well, because all those dungeon update lucky draws don't feature it and there hasn't been a single appealing banner from it. i did at least get Cecil BSB from that one free draw a while back, and the Kain BSB/OSB combo from other lucky draws. could use some TAY dungeon updates still, though.

There's going to be a 4-hit Wind spellblade in the future so Cloud's BSB2 has lost a lot of luster, the only reason you'll want it now is for wind infusion. Seems like Cloud in general is losing usage in Japan because bosses like *4 Magicite, multiplayer and Ozma have so much defense he'll barely be hitting over 9999 anymore unless it's a wind weak boss. Not to mention Cloud's lack of quickcasts is really holding him back in the sub30 meta, people are replacing him with Bartz or Vaan for wind DPS chains these days.

Also word of warning about Rebith apoc Valigarmanda, BRING MIND BREAKDOWNS AND HYPER BREAKS. He used aoe Freezing Dust like 5 times in the fight, it ignores blinks, astra and affliction break so the only way to deal with it is mind breakdowns and high mind stats. He can totally fuck you over by stopping your party so many times that wall wears off and they're sitting ducks.

Edit: Scratch that, the one I got from the 6* lucky was his USB, not BSB, and this is the latter. Very distinct shape on these Kaiser Knuckles so I thought it was the same one.

Actually the multiplier on his burst command is lower than a quadstrike. For some reason the PDF author includes the effect of infuse element in the multiplier when the burst grants infuse element. So the real multiplier on Cloud Cycle ability 1 is 2.6 (3.9 with infuse wind) and the multiplier on a quadstrike spellblade is 3.2 (4.8 with infuse element).

The thing about doublecast still applies and outweighs the multiplier issue though.

So how much mythril do you think it would be worth to try for to stack it with his USB?

IMHO it's not worth chasing if you already have the two best items on the banner. 50 or 100 mythril max. There are some other really good banners coming up soon.

Tidus chain is a chain, which automatically makes it very good.
Kimahri USB isn't something I'd want to draw.

Chains are good but you need to do some work to maximize them, they're not automatically amazing by themselves.

The average damage boost from a chain is approximately half of the final multiplier. (For example if you get to 40 then you get one hit at +1% and one at +40%, one at +2% and one at +39%, etc.) That means the chain needs to get to at least 40 to get as much damage as a regular old imperil element soul break. If you do get past 40 you're potentially getting lots of extra damage.

That said, Tidus's Chain is REALLY good with his USB because his EX mode tacks 6 water hits on after every shooter ability. His LM2 is doublecast shooter so it works great with the chain as well. But if you don't have those then I wouldn't count on it being that amazing.

I have Tidus BSB but not USB

It looks like I have exactly two dupes on each banner this fest. Planning 4-6 pulls total, likely skipping B5 since I'm good on holy/dark stuff (including fully dived Raines). B2/3/4 are all getting one for sure. Now, if I have Squall's USB, should I be trying hard for his BSB2? Rest of the banner seems good enough where I wouldn't feel bad about chasing.

Lastly, I'm wondering if B1 is worth it. Unless I missed something there are no fire imperils there, which is what I really need. I have four En-fires, one of which is a dupe here, plus Papalymo BSB which is really good. Some FF3 synergy would be nice but OK USB is coming up which I am pulling on. Think I can save a pull here?

Did the d200 FF1 torment CM with WoL, Garland, Wol, Matoya and Serah. Actually wasn't too bad despite the lack of FF1 synergy (I don't have any relics for Wol and Matoya anyway) Had Wol use Ramza's BSB2 and command one to deal with the trash and do decent damage on Astos (since he has no relics he doesn't need the meter anyway) Astos is surprisingly frail for a torment boss, WoL was doing 9999 with his Burst entry (granted I loaded him up with Agrias' USB Sword++ and his Burst shield for the 40% holy boost as well as Pecil's level 99 RM)

Astos' biggest threat is his status effects but if you have Enkidu and Ultra cure they aren't so bad. Getting slowed sucks through.

Whew, mastered the torments and CMs. That one was definitely tougher than the XIV torment, but still not too bad, just kind of time consuming. The 200 CM was the hardest for me because I had basically two pieces of almost dead weight in my team. The team was WoL, Sarah, and Master Monk with BSBs, plus Echo and Garland with abilities (and a bad old Unique SB). Echo's only function was casting meteor on trash and full breakdancing the boss. Garland was maybe even more useless since he just lifesiphoned into his old Unique SB.

250 I ran Beatrix, Y'shtola, Minfilia, Raines, and WoL. The extra rounds of trash and higher HP made it more of a marathon but my party was so much more powerful the boss fight seemed way easier.

300 CM was the quickest and easiest of all, running WoL, Sarah, Minfilia, Raines, and Master Monk. And now I actually have enough Bravery motes for another legend dive! Gonna wait and see what relics I draw before diving anyone else though.

I had to throw in the towel on the FFI CM. With my grand total of 0 FFI relics, I still got him down to about 10% hp left, just couldn't survive his last little aoe onslaught.

Did the D300 CM with Garland, WoL, Tyro, Ramza and Sarah, not too bad, since Astos has such little HP Garland and WoL can kill him with just their BSB entries before Cloud USB wears off, even through they're both slow as molasses.

Finally got enough *5 Bravery Motes to get Marche's second LM! Also I just learned that Firion use Dexterity motes instead of Bravery motes so I can Legend dive him, but I dunno if I should since he still might not be enough to Sub30 Shadow Dragon and I don't use him that much even through I got his BSB/USB/OSB (but I would if he could use a holy ability!)

I did it with those 2 cause they were twins and I never wanted them to have uneven EXP at all. Which unfortunately met I could never use RM for them because inevitably one would get ahead of the other some round if I did that.
