I honestly don't believe this is true. I speak from personal experience. I've been through droughts and crappy relationships and was bitter for a while as a result. I think people need those experiences to learn where they're failing and so forth. Sometimes you realize in hindsight that you were an asshole or they sucked. Just keep going and keep trying. In general, I've found that if both parties are having a good time that's when things work out

I'd pretty much say the opposite from what I've experienced. As much as I don't want to believe in it either, the "assholes gets women" has been pretty much true from what I've seen. Every friend of mine who insults other guys to make himself feel better/superior in front of others often get laid fairly easily. The other group of friends, who're virgins, never really feel the need to insult/make fun of people when others are around. That's the main reason I think people say "Assholes get laid".

A good example of what I remember is that when I was at a party, some guy who was 2 years senior to me in school was also invited. Now in front of everyone he says 'I used to bully the shit out of him' (a guy who only knew my name and how I looked, never talked to him in school) just to appear cool in front of chicks. It was pretty much the first time when I retaliated and said something like "I'm glad you're feeling better about yourself by saying that" and he got pissed. Its pretty sad actually, that people have to lie about stuff like this just to increase their chances of getting laid.

Yup. Once a few of their friends start having kids and they start hearing their biological clock ticking, they either end up obsessing over their careers or their relationship status. If a woman in her mid 30s still acts like she's 22, that's a big red flag.
