Is AA that different from arena? I've seen people talking like it is, but from what little I've messed with it, it just seems to be seven arena matches in a row, right? Are people just talking about it differently because you're forced to use more than your usual core team?

Yeah, the key thing is that you're forced to use more than your core team, and you can see the opposing team before entering. So you could put breakers on characters of your choice and only bring them in when you know they will do their job

the difference is, in AA you can see their team and the map and then pick your team. that glacies build might not be so great for Sonya in regular arena, where you're not gonna face Reinhardt every time, and when you don't you might waste her dark aura effect.

There's a Check Map button at the bottom while you set up your team, yeah.

Check map on the bottom of the team selection page. It's a lot more manageable once you figure that out. I don't think it was widely advertised (or at all) when arena assault was released.

TT and CC allows you the same luxury if you haven't noticed.

Have been trying to play as little of this game as possible while still completing quests and whatnot. I'm now at 455 due to just avoiding managing my superflulous units for as long as I can.

I have 200 barracks capacity.

Getting past the top 10k in TT requires over 123k points just FYI for anyone thinking about doing some last minute grinding.

I had orbs saved up. Before I was at around 4.75% pity pull.

Now I'm just trickling in draws as I earn em. I do have a decent amount of story stages on the board but yeah.

Well got an Inigo. Would've rather got Azura or Olivia but oh well at least he's from the banner. +ATK -DEF seems like a good combo with him if I wanna do the antihorse build.

Also got a 5* Chrom on the final pull. Would've been exciting if he wasn't -Atk but if I ever get one with good nature I'll instantly have +1 at least.

Example:

MSID_H_2: If unit receives consecutive attacks from\na foe using magic, damage from\nsecond attack onward reduced by 50%.
MSID_H_3: If unit receives consecutive attacks from\na foe using magic, damage from\nsecond attack onward reduced by 80%.

Seems like it wouldn't exactly crap on it then. It'd just give you more options to exploit the AI I think. But as the player you can play around them by mixing and matching your OHKO options to the right seals

I'm glad they at least realize there's a problem, though. That gives hope that the game might one day have something resembling balance to it.

Considering 90% of the OHKO meta involves explosive magic (with 10% Bridelia and Brave BowLyn), I think it neuters it pretty effectively. Every team is going to run one unit with the reduce-magic seal that can counter Brave users, and that's really all that's needed.

I don't think anyone is going to use the reduce melee seal at all. I can't remember the last time I saw a brave melee user.

Blade tome users focused on killing with one big attack are going to come back into vogue, I think. Be on the lookout for lots of Ninos! Luckily the AI isn't going to be able to utilize those kinds of units nearly as well as Brave weapon users.

Like I said I think it helps you as the player because you can bait the AI with your appropriate seal

But like, if I see all 3 of those seals on the enemy team, if I'm running Brave Bow + Reinhardt or whatever I can mix and match them to the appropriate foe.

Not that I use Reinhardt cause screw that guy but you know what I mean. They should still be pretty potent options on the player end because of the one seal restriction. If you could seal up whole teams then yeah it'd be a bit more killer for Reinhardt.

That's true, but I don't use Reinhardt so all I really care about is the Arena Defense aspect of this change.

Yeah it'll probably make people use him less on their defense teams because it'll be more trivial to neuter him, which is always good.

What I really want is like, a fortify special exclusive to staff users that gives that buff or something. That'd be killer.

The real buff that staff users need is for them to somehow not drag down on your Arena score. I actually think my standard setup of Pain+Rehabilitate+Live to Serve makes for a damn effective healer that I wouldn't mind bringing into Arena, but it's hard to when they tank your score so badly.

Real talk, stat totals shouldn't even matter for Arena score. It's kinda clownish that they do. Should entirely be merges + rarity + skill inheritance, with the latter not being about raw points but just slots used.

Yeah I've never liked it. Actually makes high-ranking Arena stuff super boring too. All I'm facing are Armor units.

They are indeed in addition to our regular orbs.

So it looks like we can create seals(Including any you may have missed. I'm seeing the Phantom Spd 1 seal available), and we can also upgrade the seals!

Panic Ploy and Distant Defense Seals are both very tempting to upgrade. Fully upgraded it's basically like getting a free skill slot. That's crazy.

Looks like we can't upgrade Quickened Pulse though :P

And it appears Hardy Bearing 2 is exactly the same as Hardy Bearing 1.

This is what I've always thought should be the case. There would be greater variety in the teams you fight as well.

Fuck, I've been affected by this stupid update bug that when I go to the App Store to update, there is no option to do so. People said try to reboot phone, but that didn't solve anything. I was in the middle of finishing the AA quests and now who knows when this shit will be fixed.

I had the same issue

I turned off my phone, turned it back on, then went to Fire Emblem in the store, selected "Open," and then when it said it needed an update and sent me back, it finally said "Update."

EDIT: Actually, ignore that. Despite downloading the update, the game is still telling me to update.

Looking at the new Seals, I think that Panic Ploy is going to be more anti-meta than anything else. Being able to put the Level 3 version of that on anyone is reeeeally good.
