He lives with his parents and has zero living expenses. He's basically ICOYAR but not an asshole. And he has autism, but he's high functioning enough to hold a sort-of part-time job taking pictures at high school sporting events. He gets SSI and apparently just bought a 2017 car with it. It kinda pisses me off.

If you are both disabled (according to the SSA definition) and can demonstrate your financial need (insufficient or no income and less than $2,000 in assets), you may qualify for SSI. A 2017 car is a $2,000+ asset. --- RIP_Supa posted... I've seen some stuff ... Copied to Clipboard!

I'm not an SSI expert but I know some things can't be counted as an asset, and I think it might include your home and 1 car or something. That is at least true if you need the car for medical reasons or possibly for work etc.

You just have to go through life without letting that stuff annoy you. There's always gonna be people getting nice shit they didn't earn and then acting like they earned it or are entitled to it. I know several people like this. It's still better, at least to me, having to earn stuff yourself though. I would never feel a sense of accomplishment otherwise
