See as far as qualified goes, Person A and Person B wouldn't even be a decision if past misdemeanors was non-qualifier. The application wouldn't be accepted.

There are jobs that qualifications do not allow people with past felonies to apply. Or say a Dui.

For example, a person with a DUI is not qualified to be a trucker in most companies.

Let's say the amounts Person B stole were small enough that no charges were pressed, they were just terminated immediately. So, no misdemeanors. Do you consider Person A and B equally qualified?

Yes. They are equally qualified even with a misdemeanor theft if the job doesn't deem that as a non-qualifier also.

I would expect that Person A would be chosen for being what the interviewer felt was the right choice, however, in the misdemeanor scenario.

I expect Person A is more likely to be chosen if they have an impeccable work record compared to the fired Person b after the interview process.

Okay. So you define "Qualified" strictly by the the most bare minimum of terms, and that it cannot change. Got it.

Odd, but fair enough.

I'll also say this about her emails and then I gotta sleep:

When Karl Rove deleted his server's emails in like 2007, I was mad at him at that time -- and many more emails were deleted there than with Hillary, too. It should have been a bigger deal, yet Republicans let it slide and I thought maybe America wasn't up to date on how emails worked yet so the issue just couldn't be big enough yet. We'll probably never know all the shady stuff there.

Then comes Hillary. We know the story -- humongous ordeal. Republicans were furious and Democrats were scared of having someone prosecuted during an election. I felt like I was being fair and bi-partisan by maintaining my standard with the emails I had with Rove. I also made an excuse for Republicans not being made in 2007 -- the world just wasn't digital enough then, but we were now. This controversy destroyed Hillary off of suspicions of shady stuff.

So with those two incidences in mind, I wanted to believe Republicans were going to play fair on this issue from now out. Learning that is not the case, however, is one of the greatest disappointments I have with Republican voters.

Since the election: Donald's internet connections are proven to be super-weak at all his homes, his Twitter account's linked to a GMail account, he refuses to secure his phone, and he has a private server at Trump Towers. Hackers got into one of Pence's email accounts used for business. Spicer might have Tweeted out his password twice. Tillerson had a fake online identity where he lied his ass off about climate change. Again, all this happens or is revealed since defeating Hillary on the back of her emails controversy, and I can't recall a peep from any conservatives on them.

My good faith in being fair and understanding was taken advantage of. Republican abuse of this bi-partisan effort I personally made is incredibly disappointing, and it will always be remembered.

Fair, but so is Karl Rove and they didn't care then. Donald deleting emails before a casino lawsuit was old news too. Donald largely defeated Hillary on the email issue, and then nine months later he pardons Arpaio who's done the same thing.

Just making the point that Hillary wasn't given the same kind of pass other Republicans have received.

If you're playing semantics about qualifications for president, allow me to quote Hillary Clinton's latest book:

Someone sent me a Facebook post that summed up the dynamic in which [Bernie Sanders and I] were caught:

Bernie: "I think America should get a pony."
Hillary: "How will you pay for the pony? Where will the pony come from? How will you get Congress to agree to the pony?"
Bernie: "Hillary thinks America doesn't deserve a pony."
Bernie Supporters: "Hilary hates ponies!"
Hillary: "Actually, I love ponies."
Bernie Supporters: "She changed her position on ponies! #WhichHillary #WitchHillary"
Headline: HILLARY REFUSES TO GIVE EVERY AMERICAN A PONY.
Debate Moderator: "Hillary, how do you feel when people say you lie about ponies?"
US Uncut Headline: Congressional Inquiry into Clinton's Pony Lies.

Basically I don't see what's wrong with saying, "Yes, I made mistakes and could have done better, but there was also a lot of things out of my control that contributed also" provided, of course, those things are real. If you'd like to debate them, sure, but the statement itself?

just always found it weird that people disparage such things as "making excuses" as if that alone invalidates any truth to the statement itself
