I think Tribute to the Troops was still airing on NBC until a few years ago. Still, WWE isn't going to care about the AAA rating since the only part of the show that got any mainstream pub outside of Mexico was the Sexy Star thing.

I just finished up the rest of round 1. Got to be honest its been pretty underwhelming overall.

I will say that I think the Bell air chick is interesting. Hair as a whip and I like her name.I feel like they just didnt do as good of a job as the CWC did as far as making me invested in the characters being built

I feel like its almost equal parts in ring and commentary. JR feels like he lost a step and Lita is not very helpful. Maruo and Bryan were much better

I've been wondering why WWE's "worked shoots" work and why Russo's worked shoots rarely ever did

WWE worked shoots, rare as they are, touch on a lot of commonly held smarkiest smark beliefs. It felt like Punk was speaking FOR the fans. Bryan was a conduit FOR the fans. It felt like Cena this week was speaking FOR the fans. Even though most of it is bullshit, it comes across like what frustrated fans WANT to believe about the company.

Russo worked shoots had nothing to do with fans. Dirtsheets say Bagwell is unhappy? Bagwell acts "uncooperative" in his match. Dirtsheets say Hogan won't job to Jarrett? Russo comes on and rants out creative control clauses. The fans are a third party to this stuff. They don't care about Goldberg's real life contract negotiations going south. They just care that the wrong people are being pushed.

I don't really agree. I mean I get what he means and yeah sometimes you will have to adjust but it should be on the performers and writers to elicit the crowd reactions they want. Saying "we're now going to change the story and probably make it weaker than what we originally planned" comes off to me as a defeatist strategy. Know the crowd. Know your story. Be thorough in your decision-making and writing. And don't chicken out because the crowd seemed not to like one particular story beat.

You can point to Bryan at WM30 or the decision to have Rollins cash in as examples of plans being changed for the better, to which I'd say if WWE knew the crowd and their audience, the plans would never have needed to be changed in the first place.

You probably shouldn't change course on a storyline at the first sign of fan discontent if you're confident in your ability to pay it off in the future, but there's also no reason to stubbornly persist in going in a direction that is clearly not working. Eventually you've just gotta mercy kill it for your own sake.

I agree that there's no reason for companies to ever be so out of touch that that's necessary, but that's probably not realistic. Every company out there has had some swings and misses.

also it may just be hard to plan out A B C and D, but it may be good to plan out A and B, have the overall plot of A to D, and have vague but malleable C and D.

When you are that big, your crowd's opinion isnt uniform.

NXT looks hot catering to a smaller audience, if it had the same viewership as raw they would have to make a lot of adjustments.
