His job was not simply "stop illegal immigration" (which, btw, he didn't accomplish). His job was "curtail illegal immigration without breaking the law yourself in the process." Gosh, between the blatant Eighth Amendment violations, the alarming bodycount in his jails, and the routine occurrences of legal citizens being detained for what amounts to "reasons", I'm not sure why anyone could possibly have an issue with it.
