I almost always go luck. It's never worth it and almost always requires me restarting. Games really need to utilize luck more. Like instant win a fight including bosses. Bonus loot or experience. In real life luck is a near requirement for success.

in the Souls games, I usually go with DEX.

I'm going with strength now, but with dexterity, the gameplay is usually easier, since the weapons are usually faster and the bow causes more damage.

No.

Faith (often also called stuff like Willpower) is different from Intelligence but also from Luck. Luck is just the tilt of the universe being in your favor. Intelligence is power gained from knowledge and study. Faith is literally believing so hard that you derive power from it.

Larger strength weapons pancake and delete things easily

and the bow causes more damage.

Crossbows are better

in DaS3 and Bloodborne, the enemies can be fast, so it's better to be faster, IMO.

in DaS, I just went for a quality build, since the gameplay wasn't as fast

Reading this topic reminded me of a system used in some game, but I can't remember which game.

In this game, there were two weapon types (melee and ranged, maybe?) but melee was overall much better because your melee damage was determined only by your STR. Meanwhile ranged/bow damage was some convoluted mess of a calculation involving STR, DEX, and some division. In the long run, it means your ranged characters would be far inferior to the melee users damage-wise because you had to raise both stats to counter the division.

Sounds similar to Disgaea. Bow damage was calculated by (Atk + Hit) / 2. Bows were okay, but never really as good as melee weapons that were plain Atk, or Guns that only relied on the Hit stat.

I think you're right. I played a ton of Disgaea back in the day.
