Hes a white straight christian. Its not cool to pretend we care. Its only cool to pretend when its a minority

The fact that he was "such" a christian is why people think he was Shun. If he changed positions he could have still be in the league . Even comparing him to Tebow proves the point about racism. BTW TEBOW WAS THE ONLY CHRISTIAN to play in the NFL.

Theres absolutely no proof he would still be the league. If Kaep changed his position he would still be in the NFL.

BTW KAEP WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO GOT DOWN ON HIS KNEES IN THE NFL.

As a 49ers fan, I think Kap gets crapped on way too much. Record aside, his numbers last year show he can still be a decent QB in the right system.

I'm still relieved he's gone for various reasons, but there are far worse QB's than him that have a job. It's definitely not just his quality of play that's keeping him unemployed. A factor, yes, but there's definitely more to it than that.

Kap basically got Tebow'd.

He's a decent quarterback that can win games if you design an offense around him, but teams don't want to do that unless you're a transcendent talent.

Also they don't want to deal with unnecessary media attention.

The Dolphins reportedly considered Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow possible choices. Orton retired in 2014, and Tebow hasn't thrown an NFL pass since 2012 and left football to play baseball. Like, I know Kaepernick pissed off all the Cubans in Miami by wearing that Castro shirt, but holy Jesus nuts... Tim Tebow!?

It was 4 yards and 4 sacks, but yeah the game in Chicago is the one you're probably thinking of.

He had a great game in Miami, though. My point is he still has something left in the tank. He's still superior to other QB's in the league like Mallett and Osweiler.

Troublemaker purely in the sense that his name can bring bad press. I am conflicted on this one because I personally support what he's doing. I just understand that his actions come with a cost. Hopefully he realized this before he began his protests.

Geno Smith has a job and Kaepernick is unemployed. It's not that hard to figure out why Colin can't find a QB spot anywhere but it's also not an issue of race either.

He's dozens upon dozens of miles away from being good enough of a QB to offset the immense baggage he's gotten from his political statements. Now is it outrageously hypocritical of the league to be so against that when owners have been lenient towards players who cheat the game, rape, murder, assault women, etc., yeah but the NFL has always been business first above everything.

You can't be serious. It's literally Miami and his comments on Castro were about as offensive as can be to a Cuban exile. You really think that shouldn't be on the table when the NFL is in the business of entertainment? The potential loss of sponsors and season ticket holders, and any other backlash that happens as a result of it a complete fair, next. Like I can't believe anyone would even think what you posted. If Kaepernick was a good QB, he'd be on a team already.

Look at the amount of african american players who were given chances despite having personal problems off the field.

If you're good enough to play, the NFL/Owners will look the other way and sign you.

Kaepernick SUCKED.

This isn't an issue of black balling. He just is not worth the price of admission.

He has baggage and he stinks.

Personal conduct matters. SJWs need to stop crying racism here. If anything yer just turning people off with it.

Both Kaepernick and Jay Cutler suck. The reason why people care about Kaepernick is because of non-football reasons, which is a little ironic.

Ah, all the people that used to spout off "freedom of speech but not freedom from consequences" are suddenly changing their minds.

This is fucking hilarious.

Because he decided to protest, you say this. You are what's wrong with America.

Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences.

That's in the social dynamic. In terms of employment? That shouldn't be on the fucking table, unless you know, you're striking.

Point is, they should just come out and say it as opposed to just letting it be obvious.

It definitely should have an impact on employment, especially in a high-profile position. Hiring a known "troublemaker" can give a company a bad image. I don't think you can disagree with this.

Nobody even knew he was protesting until the 3rd week. It started out as a whole bunch of whiny baby feelings tears about nothing. If they hadn't have read a news clip, they wouldn't have even been aware that he was protesting. There's always some excuse for you type of people.

You are absolutely right on this. He did it all preseason but it wasn't until the Saturday morning after the third preseason game last year when people suddenly cared about it.

It's quite hilarious how this stuff randomly blows up for no reason.

It was the first game he started if iirc. No one noticed him at first as he was off to the side.

Trust me, I'm a 49ers fan. The Friday night they played the Packers in the preseason, nobody was talking about it at all. Then the next morning bam, it was suddenly a thing. It started long before he got his first regular season start against Buffalo, which was 2-3 months later.

Exactly. Didn't gabbert start the first couple of preseason starts. I thought originally no one noticed and when he was actually out there people noticed.

There were also lots of talks about him being cut before hand and people speculating he was doing it to save his job.

Source am also a niners fan.

Sorry, thought you were referring to the regular season.

I don't think Kap started the first two preseason games. Memory is a bit fuzzy there. I distinctly remember the story emerging the day after the third preseason game, though.

Yea that's what I thought. He'd been doing it from game one but no one noticed til he started. I could be wrong but that's how I remember it.
