Well, some n3rdz arm-wrestled some n3rdz at n3rdzCon and the los3rn3rdz had to do whatever the winn3rdz said for 24 hours. Money was on the line, and fame, and manufactured glory, but the winn3rdz just said Bravely Default characters had to be allowed into Save My Favorite Final Fantasy Character

Although the game has an original title, it is considered a spiritual successor of Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, a "gaiden" or "spin-off" of the main Final Fantasy series, by its creators. The game follows the traditional Final Fantasy storyline of crystals and the Warriors of Light with the traditional job system gameplay, and the "Flying Fairy" in the Japanese title alludes to Final Fantasy by having the same initials.

Also generally the way I viewed things was if it was on the Series Template on the FFWiki, it was good to go.

Which is how you get Vagrant Story and Bravely Default being in and Kingdom Hearts (and Ehrgeiz though no one ever tried) being out.

I hold no sway over things anymore, and I don't even really want her in (like I wish we could have gotten behind Veritas of the Dark as the BE rep or something) -- but she's an original character debuting in a Final Fantasy game.

Her design being based on a real person shouldn't disqualify her.

I mean, I could make an indie game that is intended as a "spiritual successor" to older Final Fantasy titles (and includes jobs and crystals and such) and that shouldn't count either

I too am in this mindset, like Yooka-Laylee or Mighty No. 9 characters wouldn't be eligible for Banjo-Kazooie or Mega Man contests

not that i'm advocating for BD but there's a pretty huge difference between a random person doing that and Square doing that

I've been wanting to get Layle in for years, we should have a FFCC rep and Layle is easily the coolest because he's all steampunk and becomes the Silver Surfer in the final boss fight



oh! also this year he actually got new representation in a FF game for like the first time ever - Dissidia Opera Omnia

I'd be fine with select KH characters being in. Could even be really strict and limit it to just the non-Disney ones who actually interact with the FF characters. I mean are they really any different than Ariana Grande or VS or all these other non-FF named stuff? I don't even think BD counts either still, but hey >_>

Or Vagrant Story or the movie. I don't think the anime was ever counted though for whatever reason. The last couple years what counts or doesn't count has been confusing. Do those characters from that "X-3" thing count???

I'm okay with Super Mario characters being in, just so long as y'all are kosher with Xenogears, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age entries. Xenogears has a Tifa poster and a teaser in an FF7 line, Mass Effect's got the geth connection (11010110 is used in the coding of both games) and Dragon Age has a krogan head as some Orlesian noble's trophy.

Yep. As I said, it's a diluted pool now. They SHOULD be thrown out in all honesty. This "wait for them to be booted" junk is just that, junk.

I'm just saying I held consistent to the series template on the wiki as my ultimate guideline. Which I still think is fair too.
