I'm not a huge fan of any of the characters but I usually made Lucina a lance user and Lyn as a horse archer at least makes thematic sense (do we even have any horse archers in the game right now? I'm blanking on any.)

I think I will free summon Lyn and pull for Ike. Ike looks like he will be a monster. Won't be upset with Lucina either. She can definitely anchor an arena assault team, and pairing her with Innes sounds amazing

Assuming you can, wouldn't it be best to save the free pull until the end of the banner? If Ike is your priority, you can pull for him and maybe get lucky. If you don't, you use the guaranteed pull at the end. If you do get lucky, you can get someone else unless you really like Ike and want a +1.

so i've been informed that Ike's B skill does not give him a ridersbane + flierbane effect. that text means he only negates buffs from cav/fliers. so uh... yeah i see why people think Lyn is the best now.

The funny thing is I thought we were never getting a bow user on a horse because Reinhardt is already oppressive enough(not to mention their reluctance to bring about Xander or Camus back). Then CYL Lyn was introduced. I shudder what she can do with BB+.


Of course since she has a skill to neutralize DC users, I imagine Xander and Camus will be conveniently reintroduced now that there is a unit that can shut them down super hard.

Well granted their defenses are good but still.

holy shit i just got two 5*s from the free pulls on these banners. another Hector and another Lyn. the Lyn is even worse than the already bad Lyn i had (+HP/-spd, the one i had is +HP/-def). the Hector is... nothing special, but perhaps my best yet (+res/-spd, my others are +spd/-atk and +HP/-def).

My point is buffing cavalry/flier units shouldn't ever have been a meta.

Did you know in real Fire Emblem games cavalry and flying is usually more of a weakness statswise to balance their superior mobility?? Weird I know!

Cavalry and flier do have less BST than infantry! Also, I feel like cavalry and fliers are generally pretty good in every FE game except in Fates. The lower statline just isn't enough to offset the balance of the added mobility.

I mean don't get me wrong they're still used because mobility is just that useful and their stats aren't much worse and weaknesses can be played around, but the idea of full teams of higher mobility units becoming the norm because they get better buffs and by extension better stats than lower mobility units seems like a cute idea someone didn't think through very well at all.

I know somebody said Camilla isn't very good and I should replace her, but I forget the suggestions people had. Also, if I do that, would it be a good idea to replace Ephraim with somebody like Tana so that I still have a flier?

If you have a plus attack Cherche, you can sac Camilla to her for brave axe if you'd like a flier. Ephraim is very useful alongside tharja. Alternatively, you can sub Nino in for Camilla.

I'd still dump Camilla for Cherche either way

there's a new A slot skill datamined that's basically defensive heavy blade with no atk requirement and also gives +4 def when being attacked. assuming that's Ike's A skill and not Lucina's, he might opt to keep that over distant counter. combined with the killer weapon effect, any time he gets doubled he'll have an instant 5 charge special (like aether). or if he gets doubled with a follow up in between like normal, his one hit can be a bonfire while having another bonfire ready immediately after.

also, as far as summoning strategy goes, the terminology used in the video implies these heroes will be permanently added to the summoning pool. if there was ever a banner where nothing gets demoted to 4* it'd be this one, but if there are demotions, it's going to be Lucina and Roy. something to keep in mind.

Charlotte has 36 attack and Lucina is suspected to have 34. They come out to the same total with their default weapon.

Lyn has 35 speed, plus 3 from the weapon. So, still a little slower than Gaius or Setsuna.

Edit : I noticed that skill too. I'm assuming it would be an A for Ike. Seems pretty solid depending on how you want to use him. Distant counter should wreck Reinhardt if that's what you want.

I think it is more likely this banner breaks the mold and they all stay 5*. But if any get demoted, it should be Lucina and Roy. I agree

Roy with quickened pulse and galeforce sounds like it could be an absolute terror. Lucina could hold together an arena assault team very nicely. Pairing her with Innes seems very strong. I want them all honestly. Only thing I know is that I am not dipping back into colorless and I'll gladly take the free Lyn.

I didn't do very well in this past season's Arena Assault. My starting team last time around was Nowi, Minerva, MRobin, and Gray. This time was Nowi, Donnel, Julia, and Gray since i knew Robin is worth less in Arena. I struggled to get two runs with little to no deaths and am not sure how i ended up with a lower score even though my starting team should have been worth more. I don't think there were any deaths

Maybe Minerva outweighed Donnel? Lower stats, but a legendary weapon is worth more points. The skills you teach your characters do matter. Minerva and Robin may have been more fully skill inherited.

I'm so not looking forward to Lyn appearing alongside Reinhardt in arena assault. Getting perfect runs is difficult enough as is.

Minerva is definitely more decked out than Julia, and Donnel is 4* while Robin is 5*.

It's pretty unfair you have to use unique units when the game throws you Nino, Reinhardt, Ike, Ryoma, and Hector fight after fight after fight. I think we should be allowed to use one dupe at least. I need more answers to these units: will train up Titania for Rein, Palla and Stahl could be used against Hector. The S Leo i got will be good counter to Nino, and all the blues i just got can be used against the rest.

It's a big challenge picking out your teams. You want to allocate your strong units evenly. I sometimes bring in low-mid tier units thinking their job is just to counter one specific enemy and end up making a mistake during the fight or things don't go the way i plan and i get screwed over

I've actually had some success with a wacky Matthew debuffing build, when playing on a map that doesn't require to constantly OHKO. I did it as a gimmick but it has been pretty strong-- dude's surprisingly tanky as his HP and DEF are fairly high (RES kinda low though unfortunately, but as long as it's not all mages it's fine), Rogue Dagger buffs both defense stats, and his SPD is high so he never gets doubled. I've been using +SPD/-ATK. Basically put him out front, then he turns the other team into a gimp and your backline finishes em off.

Close Counter (yes I used a Takumi on this nonsense! gotta counter hit to debuff)

Wondering if that Lyn Smoke thing would be more effective in the C slot. -7 Attack to everyone all the time. I've already killed a Takumi for this why not another 5*.

Debuffing all the stats seems more stylish though. Maybe I should hold off for a Speed Smoke

After spending the kind of money I shouldn't be spending, i got +Atk/-Def SCorrin. I didn't expect to go in THAT deep for her, but the allure of a 5-range unrestrained nuke was too much to resist! Since she doesn't have the optimal nature, she needs DB3 until i can get Hinoka.

Here is everything of note from the banner that I remember:

5* Cordela
5* SLeo
4* Reinhardt x3
4* Roderick x2
4* Tharja
4* Cecilia
4* Effie
4* Corrin
3* Corrin
3* Hinata x2

I got Cord, Ninian, and SLeo during my last stretch of spending money and the game was refusing to give me Corrin and i was panicking. In fact, Tharja was the last one i got before i got Corrin. When i saw there were no blue orbs, i panicked some more because the pity rate was relatively high. I would have raged if Tharja were 5* since I already have one.

Leo is stuck with Tomato Tome since he's too slow to maje good use of Rauorblade and too physically squishy for Rauorraven. He's +HP/-Spd, so i was thinking he could be a mini HP battery for my team and gave him Reciprocal Aid. Not sure how else to build him.

Glad I finally got a flying Brave Lance user. Cord is -Atk, but with Deathblow, buffs, and Draconic Aura, she will still be a major threat. I was going to pass Firesweep Lance+ to her, but i think her damage potential is greater with BB+.

As for Reinhardt, i could now be like that guy who ran 3 and Olivia, but two of them are -Atk i think, so I should probably fuse them into my better ones.

you confused me there calling her Cord. usually people call her Cordy if they shorten it. probably because there is a character actually named Cord; one of the axe fighters from Shadow Dragon. anyway, i would normally advise against investing in that -atk, but you didn't seem too interested in Est and already accidentally 5*ed a Donnel so not a whole lot of others that would want that brave lance+. maybe Effie. can always merge her once you pull a better Cordelia.

as for Leo, i wouldn't necessarily say blade is bad on a slow character. +atk Lilina or Sanaki can one-shot a fair amount of characters to the point where it's probably at least better than the default tome for them, just maybe not worth investing in if they aren't big favorites. Summer Leo has significantly worse attack, though. he seems pretty difficult to make useful. maybe just give him TA2 and he can be like a 4* Sanaki in arena assault. able to kill Nino at least. maybe that +1 atk and speed to someone else will make the difference once in a while.

I have a -Spd +Res Summer Leo. Haven't really done anything with him yet, but I think TA2 and Quick Riposte or Red Tome breaker is the way to go. I wouldn't invest in a weapon, but he should at least be useful against green and red mages.

That plus one speed and attack actually mattered once for me. I forgot all about that tome when I brought it into arena assault. I realized I could one round Camus with something. Cool. I move Leo to do something else first for some reason. Then try to attack Camus with my other guy, and was confused why my character ends up dead now.

Personally, I would only invest in plus attack or speed Cordelia. Minus attack is painful for brave.

Well, i already gave Cordy DA. I'll try to hold out as long as i can without fully investing in her, but I don't mind using her if I don't get another copy. The problem with Effie and Zephiel is the low movement; you have to pair them with dancers so they don't fall too far behind. I rarely bring Zephiel into Arena Assault.
