Something that has bothered me since season 1. The dark scenes are literally too dark. You can barely make out anything.

and plot demanded that Daenerys's raven from Dragonstone get there first despite being sent later and Dragonstone probably being further away (I'd say it is for sure but the north is huge)

I'm 95% certain it's closer to The Wall, but remember that Robert mentions to Ned that he forgot "your kingdom is as big as the rest combined."

It may be hyperbole, but really the North is gigantic compared to the other kingdoms.

Unless otherwise stated (raven links), events in GoT are not necessarily sequential. The easiest explanation is that Bran didn't reach The Wall until well after Dany had already reached Dragonstone, despite those scenes being shown out of order.

ASOIAF does this, too. The first scenes of AFFC and TWOW take place before the final chapters of ASOS and ADWD, respectively.

I didn't mean to imply that Arya and Sansa would be anything less than overjoyed to see each other, I meant that because their relationship was so antagonistic it's not a pairing the viewer is longing to see.

Maybe the 'Stannis's guys fled the castle when they saw dragons' explanation is true, and the maesters left the ravens?

The Dorne/Reach people having ravens makes more sense, though.

I'd been working on the assumption that the Wall has ravens because Stannis brought his. Didn't Sam lose the Wall's ravens at the Fist of the First Men? (Though I guess maybe they just returned on their own?)

Guess Stannis could have left some behind though.

That was 100% Nymeria. Nymeria and Ghost are the only direwolves left, right? Not totally sure on the meaning of the scene either. Best guess is that Arya meant that it wouldn't be Nymeria to be "tamed" and leave her new pack to follow Arya again.

Whether that means Arya is reversing direction again and going back south, I don't know. If so, I think it was a waste to tease her going north at all, but whatever.

I wonder, are we supposed to imply Arya killed Ed Sheeran and his buds? I was thinking maybe that that scene was supposed to start softening Arya and helping her realize that not everybody is deserving of her brand of vengeance just because of who they serve (maybe some of those Freys were innocent?) but then the next scene is her acting gruff and uncaring at the Crossroads

I'm not sure. It's totally possible that she intentionally joined them (rather than go around and avoid detection) with the plan of killing them and stealing a face to use for her infiltration of King's Landing. Whether the humanizing part changed her mind or not, I don't know. I definitely think a major point of the scene was to show Arya that just working for the Lannisters/Freys/Boltons doesn't mean you're evil, a lot of them are just regular people caught up in it all. Whether that would dissuade her from using extreme means to pursue her goals, I don't know.

the showrunners have already shown to have little understanding of arya as a character and have trouble creating a consistent tone to character arcs.

just take every scene at face value, this is not a subtle show.

The showrunners apparently stated in the after show thing that it was a callback to season one when arya says "that's not me" to her father telling her she can marry some lord when she's training with needle.

Sort of a "oh of course you won't come with me it isn't your nature" thing.

no, it's a callback (acc D/D) to the scene in 1x04 where Ned tells Arya she'll be a lady wed to a lord - and she says "that's not me"

nymeria is not going to be domesticated like arya proposed. "that's not you."

Also how can people even question if she killed those soldiers/ed sheeran or not? Of course she didn't, that whole scene was explicitly representing that there are just regular ol' dudes on every side. I thought they hammered that pretty hard with them all going through how they miss their families and such.

that is literally how messenger ravens work >_> At least, it's how homing pigeons work, and I assume they work the same way. Also, I'm pretty sure all the ravens he brought were trained to go back to Castle Black, so any ravens to be sent elsewhere would still have been safe at the Wall.

Arya has to go to Winterfell because if she spends the entire season changing directions when everybody else has Magic Travel Time Powers (tm), there will be riots.

We need to move past this, as a fandom. We need to accept that some characters have unlocked travel crystals and some have not. Arya is too busy plotting her kill count to realize she ought to have touched three dozen crystals by now. Baelish consulted a walkthrough.
