It's been increasingly dominated by manbabies and SJWs for the past decade or so.

Is it going to stay this way, or do you think it will ever revert to its former glory?

approaching the area but not even scratching the surface.

We need more of them to post pictures holding their sword (actual sword, I'm not making a penis joke) in their bedroom to scare all the SJWs away. Speaking of which, I haven't seen you post any picture like that... so what are you doing to help?

This topic is a little degrading to those who would call themselves nerds (or geeks) and I can't really take it seriously.

But that's not really true at all, dude. Nerds are of all kinds, just like everyone else. And I feel like generalizing people as nerds in the first place is a little insulting btw.

As I've discussed [with one of my coworkers before] your net is as large as the amount of friends you have.

Having zero friends outside of coworkers (who I share very little with) is pretty hard.

Then f***ing make one.
Go to an LGS, go to meetup.com, check your town's subreddit, or just talk to people about this sort of stuff (not being a dick about it of course), even people you don't imagine would like it (they probably know someone).

Now when you whine about not having friends, you can say, "well I didn't want to drive 40 minutes to play some games" and not "I can't find anyone at all".

I agree regarding Yellow's, but faramir's seems pretty on point. "Real women do what they want" is not something many people who talk about "gender roles" would find controversial.

You don't meet new people by restricting yourself to people you already know.

As others have said, if you want friends who share your interests, go find some. Join a club, visit some hangout spots for your interest, do whatever. I say this as a lifelong introvert who generally spends most evenings, by choice, alone - meeting people is not difficult if you are willing to put yourself out there.

I feel that most people don't even know what a "Nerd" or a "Geek" are anymore.

To clarify, a Nerd is someone who is just really intelligent & usually an introvert of some sort, or anti social, but not all the time. You don't have to play video games or do LARP or go to comic con to be a Nerd.

A Geek (Like me) is someone who really gets into certain types of pop culture related things, like video games, star wars or D&D. Unlike a Nerd, geeks tend to seek out people to converse with & discuss & debate topics, were as a Nerd normally wouldn't care what other people think.

Alot of the time I feel people confuse the 2.
