You don't think it's the same way for men?

It isn't. Biologically. No one said that it was easy to get bulky and muscular for men. It just does not happen for women like that without crazy supplements and/or steroids.

Yes, a woman will not put on AS MUCH muscle as a man, but again, but I'm not asking for that. It takes a lot more for a man to look like Chris Hemsworth in Thor than it takes for a woman to look like Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman. Gadot just looks like an average chick who diets well. Hemsworth looks like a Greek god.

I mean, Google their respective routines. Gal trained 3 days a week for a month and cleaned up her diet a bit. Hemsworth trained 5-6 days per week for 2-3 months. His workouts were longer and more intense. He also had a strict diet and nutrition plan, with a full bulking and cutting cycle in his program, whereas Gadot's diet was "don't snack so much and drink water."

What I'm saying is, Gadot, or whoever played Wonder Woman should have been tasked to build some muscle for the role if she didn't already have it. It's obvious the execs didn't want that (for whatever reason) so we got America's next top Wonder Woman instead of Wonder Woman the Amazon.

I still don't know why they chose this woman to be Wonder Woman, she's a freaking stick figure and Wonder Woman is supposed to be an Amazon.

they should have made her put on some muscle for the role.

I still have yet to see anyone post pics of Wonder Woman in multiple versions of comics where she's super muscly.

I don't get it either, but GR has been doing this silly schtick for a while. I half think I've only seen him post here in regards to Wonder Woman and his claims don't have any real basis. Not in the comics, not in portrayal of Amazons in the media (the Amazons on Xena were pretty scrawny, for instance), etc.

Yes, men are naturally endowed with the genetics to easily build muscle which is why they have an easier time of it.

1. She was a no name actress when they cast her. I'm not aware of any notable character before Wonder Woman that she's played?
2. I don't post here often, and this is the first topic about Wonder Woman I've posted in that I can recall.
3. See the beginning of this post. Men build muscle EASIER than women, but no, it's not easy for a man to become big or musclar.

Lol. The as much is kind of critical. Are you asking for women to take testosterone 'cause without it they can't even grow that muscle to look muscular

She starred in THREE Fast & Furious films and had a flashback cameo in Furious 7 -- a film which did 1.5b at the box office. (How much was Wonder Woman done again?) She was also in Date Night (over $150m box office) and Knight & Day (over $250m box office).

Meanwhile you're trying to treat like her like Brandon Routh, an ACTUAL unknown who hadn't been in any major film before Superman Returns and a name so unknown that you were thinking, "Who?", when you heard the name.

Except for the fact that it IS easy for men to build a basic level of musculature where they have pronounced arms, etc, where a woman trying to get that same effect has to put in effort comparable to a man with very highly defined muscles and she'd likely need "supplements" to get much further than that.

Not at all. I'm a personal trainer and I've trained multiple women who have gotten to look as good or better than Gadot in Wonder Woman, no "enhancement" required. I've yet to train a man who has even come close to looking anything like Hemsworth in Thor, or Cavill as Superman, or Evans as Captain America, if you want other examples. It's entirely wrong to say women can't build muscle without taking testosterone.

Ok, I wasn't aware of her appearances in other films, though that's not extremely relevant to what we're discussing.

On your second point, it is not "easy" for men to be musclar. It is easier for them to build muscle than women, but it is not easy for them to be musclar like a Hollywood superhero. Though I guess it depends on what you mean by "basic level of musculature". Could you provide some examples? Before you do, I just want to say that most men would be lucky to achieve a physique like Hemsworth had BEFORE Thor, fyi.

It is, however relatively easy to get in the shape Gadot got in for Wonder Woman. She has almost no musclar definition to speak of and is basically just slim. That's my issue. I do not like the look she brought to Wonder Woman because I felt she could and should have been tasked with coming in looking more defined and musclar.

Loool Whaaat she has a super low body fat percentage and despite what you say does have muscle definition

That's not easy to achieve. It may be easier to achieve depending on where you start but if you see photos of her when she's 18 she's obviously been into fitness for the long haul and has maintained her physique.

Relatively easy compared to what male superhero actors need to do, not relatively easy compared to sitting on your ass.

Well I'm not sure if you've noticed but there is a massive difference between male super hero bodies and female super hero bodies. Female super hero bodies are extremely lean and crazy proportions with some muscle mass and male super hero bodies are muscle mass to be achieved by steroids or not at all.

You're talking about cartoons and comics.

I'm talking about live action movies, I don't know about you.

In comics, both standards are crazy and unachievable for 99.9% of people. In movies, the male standards are still pretty unachievable, while the female standards are very achievable. I have a good amount of personal experience that demonstrates this.

I have to side with the girls on this one. There are rare exceptions with female comic book characters like She-Hulk or Orca, but by and large, the majority of the females are portrayed as lithe regardless of strength.

Even most female characters that would be considered top tier/Super strong are usually toned as hell vs bulked. Super Girl, Power Girl, Rogue, Phoenix, Jessica Jones, Sif, Gamora, all built like supermodels not female bodybuilders.

The jacked Snu~Snu look would be the exception rather than the rule.

Look, I'm a simple man. I like pretty, dark haired girls and breakfast foods. I've dated all kinds of women, but Olivia Munn would fall squarely within what I'd consider my "type". She's not a great actress, but I'd probably watch her read a phone book for the better part of 3 hours. I've always said my "it" girl was Alyssa Milano. Unless they could have cast a Dark Angel-era Jessica Alba as Betsy Braddock, I'm pretty OK with Munn in the role. Psylocke isn't exactly the deepest character requiring a whole lot of nuance when it comes down to it...

Depends on the weight class. If you are basing it on someone like Rhonda then yea she is going to look lean because she is a Bantamweight. Relatively speaking, that tends to be on the thinner side of MMA. This is the current male Bantamweight champion:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cody_Garbrandt#/media/File:Cody_g.jpg

Conversely, the woman on the right in this picture is a female Heavyweight (probably what you are thinking with male MMA fighters, since it is the most popular weight class):

I don't really see what you're saying. Looking at those comics, there's a noticeable difference, especially the second cover, her arms and shoulders are fucking gigantic in that one compared to Gadot. Seriously, look at the size of her deltoid compared to her head on that cover, then compare to Gadot. It's like four times bigger. And it's not like I'm even asking for THAT, just someone with some muscle. Not to mention those shots of Gadot are extremely well angled and lighted, as well as enhanced in post production.

To be clear, I don't think Gal Gadot is unattractive or in bad shape. I think she's a fine looking woman, and she's fit. But to say she's muscular or even has any visible muscle is just plain wrong. She does not have the look of Wonder Woman in my opinion, and your picture presentation only solidifies that.

Go look at the 70's Wonder Woman TV show actress and compare her to Gadot:

https://68.media.tumblr.com/7b1dfa42dfd1baf5b565f5272156293c/tumblr_odaw9c6SgL1tmykdko1_500.gif

Pretty similar, right? Imagine if Christian Bale or Ben Affleck played Batman with the physique of goofy 60's Adam West. They'd be laughed at. There's a higher standard look when playing a superhero in movies nowadays.

On a side note, the reason why I didn't reply to this topic until now is because I was sleeping, then I had clients all morning. I'm one of the only trainers who doesn't mind training on Sundays, so it gets me clients I wouldn't otherwise have. But anyway, one of my clients this morning (female) was actually talking to me about Wonder Woman and she's like "the actress they got to play her is scrawny!
