i've seen Xander and dragons with TA as well. and of course those default Roys, Sanakis and Cordelias. i can't think of a character that would want it just to counter any of those, though.

firesweep bow Cordelia is probably the only really good use of it. i can't even imagine what else she'd put in her b slot. like, g tomebreaker to be able to double Nino?

Desperation, Quick Riposte, or a breaker of your choice all sound like better options. It's rarely going to relevant, and you should really have someone else on the team capable of dealing with that color in any case

Gray is solid. Effie and Nowi have good natures. Seems like popular opinion is that + Spd - Res Nowi is optimal. So, I'd be happy with that at least. The only Nowi I ever drew was - Atk.

what exactly do I get for logging in every day

if I just started the game what should I do to get a bunch of free shit as a new player

You get orbs, feathers, dueling swords, and stamina potions for logging in.

Orbs are the premium currency used to get characters and expand stuff, the other stuff are things that you'll know about when you play the game.

When you're just starting you only need to play like 2 or 3 very quick tutorial battles to get everything a new player would get.

It's incredibly easy to reroll in Heroes if you want to do that.

What you want to do first is play through the tutorial and click on the owl at the home menu to get a few more orbs. Play through a few of the first level's missions until you accumulate 20 orbs, enough to grab all 5 characters in a summon. Pick which banner you want units from, and hit Summon. Hone Attack banner isn't bad, and the Summer Banner is a one-time deal with neat characters you won't be able to get later. The new characters are all not very good, other than Delthea.

If you get a bad batch of garbage, though, you can start over. The first time you get something good, then make sure you link your Nintendo account for more free orbs and go from there.

Good new for me. I pulled a Summer TIki(+Hp - Res so useable)! Got the valors for Swords, Lances, and Axes. With the TT done with I can focus on training without worrying.



Also free orbs for another week so don't take that break yet!

will I always continue to get orbs by playing through story missions or is there some kind of cap on this? basically I'm just curious if there is any way to get orbs other than logging in every day and getting them at a snail's pace

Each mission will give you an orb the first time you clear it. Then there are paralogues, chain challenges, and finally the squad assault to do that will all get you more orbs. Yes, once you run out, though, there's not much else to do. They've been fairly good at giving you reasons to come back to get more orbs through various other things, though, with quests, special maps, voting gauntlets, and Tempest Trials. This happens to be one of the rare times where there's none of those going on.

yeah i got 40k and i don't expect to use that seal much if at all but it was only 5k more than the last easy orb reward, so no big deal.

my pity rate is up to 4% on the Sonya banner now. at least i got a +spd/-def Nino finally. training her now and might just forget about Sonya.

I'd like to pull any nature Nino at this point. I might honestly prefer Soren to Nino simply because he more effectively counters Reinhardt. The only one I ever pulled was used a fodder, and I'm tempted to promote Cecilia to complete the cavalry team. My only reservation is that Cecilia isn't particularly great, and I can see her getting outclassed if there was another option for a green cavarly mage.

i hear you about Reinhardt. even though i have supposedly the "optimal" Nino now, i'm also considering +res. but that's sort of a special case because i'm thinking about +10ing her and can get more spd than a +spd Nino that way. even a +10 Nino that isn't +res can be killed with hone+goad. but hell, even with +res she could die to hone+goad +4 Reinhardt, so maybe i'm better off with TA and +spd.

i'm also not sure i'd want to use Nino in the arena anyway. a +10 Nino is still worth less points than a base level Hector due to his legendary weapon. i suppose +10 Nino and Nowi would be worth more than Linde and Hector but might make it even harder to win.

Triangle Adept seems like a waste on a glass canon nuker like Nino. I think I'd rather go Fury and work a resistance buff into the team so that she can still kill some reds when necessary.

Is +10 Nino really worth less than Hector? I was wondering how I scored higher in the arena this week, and I guess Sonya's tome was the difference. It's looking like I can float between tier 18-20 without Hector so I don't see a particular need to sub him in. I think having a green mage helps me win my matches more.

I'm considering merging up Sorens and Tharjas for the long term, but for the time being, I'd like to finish the cavalry team and make a flying team. Here's hoping for a Minerva or Hinoka banner

Hmm... still no MKV Infernal Berkut video. Wonder what's going on. How big are you guys' barracks? I just recently upgraded it, but 205 is still way too low at this point and I want to conserve as many orbs as possible. Wish they would give us a free upgrade because I hate to just send a dupe home if they have some good skills to inherit, but I don't really have anyone to give their skills to yet.

I've upgraded a few times. I don't like sending characters home unless they are a duplicate with no skill of potential value. It's worth it I think. Characters are pretty expensive to summon relative to the expansion cost. It'd be nice if they had a skill bank so we could trim down our barracks, but they want us to spend orbs upgrading them

I stopped pulling colorless a long time ago. It's just not worth it. Kagero isn't even so good anymore. It would take an archer as good as Cordelia for me to try. And even then, I only pulled 4 characters in a halfhearted attempt to get her

i will pull colorless when L'Arachel or Elincia are released as colorless. there's a few others that could potentially get my attention depending on art/voice/ability but those are the main two for me. of course neither are guaranteed to even be colorless, given Elincia's prf sword and L'Arachel having the best claim to Ivaldi.

I don't think I've fought a four distant counter armor team yet. Doesn't surprise me that they are out there, but they typically have two or three of them in my experience. Their movement makes them one of the easiest teams to fight though.

I had a thought yesterday that they should reduce the chance of getting a 5* healer when it's a non-healer banner, but what they should really do is not reset the pity rate if you don't pull a banner unit. They won't actually do it because it'll cost them moola, but SOMETHING needs to be done to make pulling colorless more attractive.

Those healer banners were just the absolute worst. Not only do you have a 25% chance of getting a banner healer, that is ON TOP of the existing small chance of pulling for a particular healer.

Huh. Well I just learned something about dancers.

Apparently they prioritize attacking over dancing.


Enemy M.Corrin attacked my Ninian and knocked her to low health. Enemy Ninian went down.... and attacked Summer Robin instead of dancing M.Corrin to get the kill on my dancer. Well I'm thankful for that because that finished up my deathless run. 4776 will hopefully get me back to Tier 19.


Also fuck Horse Emblem, getting tired of seeing it(And today I saw a Reinhardt that was almost strong enough to one shot my Nino).

That's not always the case. Or maybe it's not the case in all game modes, because I ran into a map this past Tempest Trial where I put my Azura in range of only an enemy Olivia, and instead of attacking it, a Frederick moved up and then got danced so he could kill her. I was in shock because I've never seen the AI:
1. Move a unit that can't reach an enemy before attacking with one that can.
2. Have a dancer prioritize dancing over attacking.

I think that AI prioritizes using an assist, like dance, over attacking if attacking would suicide the unit. It used to be that you could bait a dancer into killing itself easier, but one of the recent updates changed that

Some of the prizes shown are... Clive, Breath of Life 1 seal, Att Ploy 1 seal(12k and 20k points so there's likely more seals!) August 11th is when this starts.

Some additions to make multi map battles smoother.

Continuous Auto. It's basically like auto battle, except it continues until you clear every map or your team is defeated.

There's a team management system that allows you to reserve up to 10 teams for multi battle maps

There's a normal difficulty for TT, the enemies start at level 10. Good news for brand new players who don't have any/many max level characters yet. Of course there's nothing stopping you for using this as a way to train up fresh recruits from your team(with max level heroes backing them up).

There's now also a scoring bonus. Every day, the first two times you complete the Tempest Trials will earn you triple the points. Assuming Lunatic 7 stays the same, this would mean you'd earn 2115 points.

Bonus allies, in addition to earning you bonus points, now get stat boosts. They'll get a 10 point boost to their HP, and 4 points to all their other stats. Looks like we get to use a bullshit boosted unit for a change! Bonus allies ALSO gain double exp and sp. No word if this stacks with double SP weekend... or the valor skills. If both stacked that would mean 24 sp a kill. But.. let's wait and see before we start salivating too much.


Version 1.6 Update

A new arena mode called Arena Assault! This plays a lot like Squad Assault. You'll fight through 7 battles, and you'll have to use a different team for each fight. Heroes used in a previous fight will be unavailable for future battles. "For experienced summoners only" indeed.

However, special items are available for this mode! There's an Elixir that will full heal your entire party. A Lightning Charm that deals 20 damage to all enemies, and a Special Blade that fully charges the special of all your heroes. And more interestingly of all(that's shown) Infantry Boots that gives your team +1 to their movement speed. For one turn. There's at least 6 other items that they didn't show us any info about. We can take up to three items with us.

The best part? Stamina and Dueling Swords aren't necessary for this type of arena. Awards feature feathers(oh baby!) and something called Sacred Coins. No info on what they can get you as of this moment. The Arena Assault begins August 8th.


Catalog of Heroes

This lets you see all of the heroes you've encountered. Heroes owned will be visible. Heroes you've fought but don't own will have a silhouette, and heroes you've never met will be a ? If you own a hero, you can look at their profile, replay their summon sequence, and listen to voiced lines. You can also see their battle animations. A neat little feature.

Also Hero Merit now maxes out at 3000. That's 1000 more feathers.

They also mention improvements to Training Tower and XP/SP boosts in the arena.

6th Month Anniversary Celebration!

August 2nd makes 6 months since the release of this game!

We will, of course, get a log in bonus. Two orbs a day.

This gives us a total of 40 orbs. Of course the time frame is larger than 10 days. So I don't know if it maxes out at 20 orbs per window, or if these are bonus orbs on top of regular daily bonuses.

Starter Support Event

Starter Support: Hero Fest

For helping out new summoners. The focus rate starts at 5%. No info on what heroes are going to be featured, but this banner starts on August 10th!

There's also going to be a starter support login bonus. Apparently this adds up to an additional 20 orbs. So combine that with the daily orbs mentioned above gives us 60 orbs.

So um, if anyone wanted to try out this game or reroll? That would be a very good time to do that.


Appearance Rate Change

Starting August 7th, 3* and 4* heroes will have their appearance rate swapped. This means you'll have a 36% to pull a 3* and a 58% chance to pull a 4*. This might be a permanent change. They don't mention a limited time frame.


Oh I think everyone is going to love this one.

Free First Summon

The summoning events starting August 7th, your first summon for every focus will be free.They also didn't mention a limited time frame for this so... we might literally get a free summon for every banner from that point forward!

If the above two are temporary, they would still be fantastic. If they're permanent, then truly we are blessed!
