Chik Fil A is pretty much nation-wide. I've only ever seen Zaxby's in the south and the southern part of the Midwest. Like one guy said, the salads at Zaxby's are very good. Really generous portion and good lettuce, never sickly. They also have more options for sides and deserts, like all their milkshakes, and they have awesome fried pickles and fried mushrooms. Zaxby's also does chicken wings, and their wings are pretty good, and there is a nice variety of wing flavors, and there are a lot of options for combos and meals depending on what you are going for. For anyone who has never heard of Zaxby's due to regional limitation, it's hard to describe since to me it is "another fried chicken place" which is generally all regional to the southeast. There's a ton of local restaurants and they have virtually the same menu, right down to the ubiquitous default chicken sauce (Zax sauce at Zaxby's) which has a different name no matter where you go. (it's at Red Robin, they call it campfire sauce, at Jack's it's comeback sauce, coincidentally I don't think Chickfila has it) Anyway, I pick Chickfila because it's just consistently good. That's really all I want in a fast food place. I want guaranteed good food, fast. I don't care if it's burgers or tacos or fried chicken. Zaxby's chicken (whether the wings or chicken fingers) is sometimes dried out and when you get take-out, the styrofoam boxes make your fries soggy and your chicken soft. Occasionally I get very slow service which makes absolutely no sense when you consider the size of the menu. Chickfila, no matter where I go, is very good and very consistent, and the staff is super-ultra friendly, like it's almost uncanny how friendly they are, except it does feel genuine.
