Which option most closely describes you?

I tried to cover all fronts, but there are always exceptions.

I'll use my own example to help you figure out what you might vote for.

I used to be an avid and regular user until I started having general paranoia and brain issues unrelated to the weed, so I stopped smoking. I also have a job that might be in jeopardy if I were ever to be tested (even though they don't test, at least that I know). However, I fully support legalization.

In my scenario, I will vote #3, since I personally don't smoke anymore.

discuss

EDIT: Also, when I say "smoking," I'm simply using that word to refer to getting high as a result of marijuana in any way. So it includes edibles, vaping, or whatever other creative ways today's youth are getting baked.

I may have been vague - the paranoia was indeed related to the weed, but the brain issues were not (as far as I, or any doctor I visited, know).

I don't smoke anymore. There were periods in my late teens and early 20s where I smoked very regularly (4-5 times a week) but it doesn't really capture my interest any more. Personally, it was addicting for me. I also very rarely drink now too. I really enjoyed the instant gratification of both drinking and smoking, but it inhibited my abilities to pursue long term endeavors or develop skills in my hobbies so I stay away from it now. I also experimented enough with drugs to satisfy my curiosity, and doing any more was just like living life on repeat and I try to avoid that where possible. I'm generally a much happier person now to be honest. But to each their own. I don't judge anyone that does or doesn't smoke, I just want to see people having fun however they choose, without hurting anyone.

I'm okay with legalization although I'm concerned about it at the same time to be honest.

Both of these for me. ^.~

Wouldn't surprise me if there was some correlation like that.

If you don't mind - What are some of your reasons for not supporting legalization/decriminalization? (Also an open question to anyone else who doesn't support it)

Like most things, I think it's ok in moderation.

Should be decriminalized/legalized but not abused. Just like alcohol, gambling etc.

I used to smoke it, and used to drink alcohol. but after a while the effects started becoming unpleasant, had trouble enjoying things sober, etc. So I stopped. But i have no problem with other people doing these things, and there's no sane reason for it to be illegal.

Lol, the gov. position I just applied for is for licensing pot and regulating it in Wa hehehe.

So yeah, totally for it. Think all drugs should be legal personally, regulated and taxed. Again it would reduce crime, ensure most of the profit didn't go to bad people (unless you consider the gov bad..hehe)...and would hopefully protect people from getting addicted against their will etc.

Only things that should be crimes are ones that harm others (or their property). Personally don't even think self harm should ever be considered a crime (unless it costs taxpayers money etc, in which case it should be fined, or jail time if you can't pay the fee).

Oh well, I'm too old to change the world, it's up to future generations if they want things to change, but yeah, I'm all for legalization.

I don't do anything with it and I wouldn't care for it at all, if not for the fact that I've had some nasty encounters with habitual users of it. I've grown pretty biased against it, the culture, the people that use it and everything around it.

I know that I shouldn't let that change my opinion on it, however, those assholes have been the worst things I've had to deal with in my life. Besides, I wouldn't use it either way because I believe that I (me, myself) NEED to earn any good feelings, otherwise it's not worth it.

I use it almost every day, though I really only do it at night after work. I do not do it in public, or before i have shit to do. always the last thing i have to do for the day. Even on my days off where I have nothing to do I still prefer to do it in the evening.

As far as legality is concerned, that would be great. But it isn't like its terribly hard for me to get despite its legality, so while that would be great, it isnt like im affected much as is.

Haven't smoked and don't want to, I dislike not being in control of myself.

Fairly neutral on legalization, I find people who abuse it annoying and worry legalizing it would make them more common, but on the other hand the same is true of alcohol and that's legal so...

I should do some reading on how things are going in states where it's legal. If everything's pretty safe then just legalize it and treat it like alcohol (i.e. no being high in public, driving while high, age limit...)

I have never smoked weed and probably never will. I support legalization only if it is taxed and regulated, which it will be within the next 13 months.

I would however absolutely oppose simple decriminalization as that does nothing to curb the dealers from making illegal tax free income.

I have had bad experiences weed when I was a teen, but I still support it 100%. Fine if it's taxed but I'm afraid of over-regulation when it is legalized. I DON'T want it to end up a monopoly in the hands of big pharma or BC LDB. Independent pot shops have their place in communities already. In my city, it seems to be doing okay without strict regulation and I don't think there is any need for it.

I don't smoke often but I have thought about getting oil caps or candies for my back pain.
