Ok I am ready to do Palace 6 now. One week left until deadline and I got all the party members I can to max except Morgana and Haru, who is at 1. Haru either needed to join earlier or be WAY cooler. We're talking Naoto or Shinji levels of cool to make up for how late she joins.

Also Akechi, but he's full of shit and I'm going to be surprised if the twist is that he ISN'T full of shit. In the meantime, I will enjoy his amazing dance moves, because god damn that victory pose is incredible.

Got to the school trip. Futaba is great. I can finally see why people don't like ryuji. PHANTOM THIEVES OMG SO GREAT in every convo kills my soul a lil bit. Ann's the most meh character right now though, she kinda feels like filler fan service and the other girls are so much more entertaining

Apparently Atlus has bought a few Japanese URLs that would presumably be used for a Persona 5 Arena fighting game. As one of the approximately 12 people who really fucking enjoyed P4U I am cautiously optimistic.

I liked P4A but never got around to playing the sequel. Labrys's story mode was a top tier moment in the series for me to be honest. (I did enjoy the gameplay also, but at the end of the day I am a Persona fan and not a 2D fighter fan)

Beat that dumb game. Last part of it was tough. I hope you guys check out the TV daily. There are tons of Persona references on it. I don't think I caught any for Yu, Nanako, Dokkan, Yusuke, Teddie or Kanji though. A couple P3 references too though not as many.

Lost about 3 hours of progress in the 7th palace. High Counter really sucks.

Overall, I'm liking the game a lot. There are definitely some anime ass anime translations that take me out of the game every now and then, but whatever. It's been really fun playing it together with my wife, she's never seen a Persona game before and really likes how story driven it is. She also randomly screams YOU'LL NEVER SEE IT COOOOMIIIIIING, so that's nice.

Some of the endgame mobs seem to proc High Counter at a rate closer to 50 or 60% instead of the 15% it's supposed to be, based on my anecdotal and totally not actually scientific experience

I got to the 2nd Palace. I won't get to the boss anytime soon, but a certain young girl has an Almighty spell with his name on it. The bears will have to sit this one out.

I made a Shiki-Ouji before going into the third palace, and that persona really seems to break the difficulty there since it feels like a lot of enemies in here are phys-based.

Yes. That was a shame. I liked her a lot. Maybe it was because her actress was the 2nd Shallie in the recent Atelier game, but maybe it was her audacity to wear a big headband and dress. She has interesting fashion sense.

Also, is that special scene for completing just the high school girls, just the adults, or ALL of them? Now that I read this, the whole "dating your teacher" thing is making me uncomfortable and almost sick.

Chihaya looks like she should be in high school, but it turns out she's also an older woman. Maybe not by much though, as she does seem younger than Ohya/Takemi/Kawakami

Chihaya def seems like a college age which is still somewhat acceptable.

I'm just going on a ballpark estimate here.

Chihaya: 22-24 (makes sense she'd be the youngest of the group)
Takemi: 26-29 (depends on medical training standards, since that field is a bitch)
Ohya: 28-33 (god knows; young voice, but Jesus Christ the hair, the outfit, and the booze)
Kawakami: 30-35 (Japanese games make 30 the "old" cutoff; maid hairdo really drops 3-4 years off though)

I mean, anime artwork makes every girl look 10-15 years younger than they actually are stated as (sly, disgusting perverted artists you), so these could be way off.

I mean, Yuffie sure as hell doesn't look 16, but they claimed she was. Sure Square. Whatever. And seriously, all the Atelier leads are not adult age. I'd be hard pressed if any were middle school age. Some do (Ayesha and 1st Shallie for instance), but nope. I don't buy it.

Draw them as young as possible, and set the age appropriately from there. No creepiness involved...except when it comes to Ann's poses.

They never did give Sae a romance option...

...I mean, given the circumstances of the game and Makoto's portrayal, I KNOW why. They did go forward with Kawakami. But in a hypothetical sense, the Persona writers showed restraint in that surprising instance with Sae.

After Erica and now Kawakami, you'd think these guys would have the balls to try anything.

Palace 7 beated. I love how Ryuji has his great redeeming moment of heroism saving everyone's lives, and then when they get back to reality the girls beat the shit out of him and leave him unconscious in the street. It's hilarious and completely fitting.
