I was looking at my Steam profile to see if there was a way to see when I got a game (didn't seem to be) and noticed that I've had my account since 17 May 2005. I know that was because of HL2, but it doesn't feel like it's been that long.

This topic isn't really about when we all made our Steam accounts, it's about the fact that it doesn't feel like Steam has been around for as long as it has. Also the whole reason I was looking is because of the CS: Source topic, I own it, but I don't remember ever buying it.

it doesn't feel particularly long or short to me because it's not really something i've ever paid much attention to! maybe if it had more than a couple worthwhile games

That's around the time I bought the Orange Box and back then I didn't really know much about Steam other than it was something I need to play Portal.

Got the Orange Box a couple of days before TF2 beta came out, beat HL2 and EP1, then TF2 beta came and it was like "woah" and I didn't even play Portal on the day it came out cuz I just wanted to play TF2.
