I usually play PC games because they are cheap on Steam, so I am very careful and selective when I pay $50 for a game. How was it?

I personally didn't really like it. It has some cool things like time stones and such. But the controls are annoying, and quite honestly it only has 1 dungeon worth writing home about IMO. The ending feels a little rushed too.

Great dungeons, very fresh Zelda experience with a new fun combat system.

The one and only problem is hand-holding. There's a LOT of pointless text that you can't skip through, and Fi is by far the most annoying Zelda side-kick ever ("HEY, I JUST THOUGHT I'D LET YOU KNOW THERE'S A 75% CHANCE THAT THERE'S A BOSS KEY IN THAT BOSS KEY CHEST. I KNOW IT'S THE 4TH DUNGEON SO YOU'VE ALREADY SEEN THREE OF THESE, BUT I JUST THOUGH I'D BETTER MAKE SURE YOU KNOW")

As far as 3D Zelda goes, better than WW or TP, but has several design flaws that makes it not as good as OoT or MM.

Though I personally really liked it a lot.

I love it and hate it at the same time. I recommend playing it and think it does some things incredibly well, but it's at the bottom of my 3D Zelda list none the less.

... Are you dense? Because it's pretty obvious that I was just pointing out how ridiculously stupid when Fi does pop up to tell you there's a boss key in the boss key chest in dungeon 4.

No, it happens in the 4th dungeon, when the big statue lifts up and you see the Boss Key chest in the crater thing underneath.

not the worst game ever, but definitely the worst console zelda ever. the first console zelda where the bad outweighed the good. the controls are actually the best thing about it.

Oh they also introduce the best Zelda character ever.

The only real design flaw is that it's designed so that the game tries really hard to show you everything there is to see in the game. This leads to what some people call "hand-holding", others call "filler", others call "fetch quests", etc.

Previous Zelda games would present some content, but not make it mandatory to experience it. SS will make it a story point to take you through that content.

So if you play Zelda for the solo exploration and such, then you probably won't like the game, but if you just want good gameplay, then you will enjoy it. Personally, I never played Zelda for the exploration, especially when in OoT and TP there was really nothing interesting to find (MM had actual rewards for exploration and non-linearity though, so that was great), so I enjoyed the game.

I think it pretty much comes down to your feelings on motion controls. That's what this game is all about, doing something new with motion controls. I really hate motion controls, so I don't like Skyward Sword.
