I played TF2 for just over 200 hours in 2011 and never really touched it much after that. Like, I've never played Mann vs Machine or whatever it was/is called.

Maybe if we can create electric vehicles that can go a comparatively insane amount of miles between top offs (1000+ miles), or create batteries that can go a normal (~300) amount of miles and be charged nearly as fast as filling your tank does (at least 10 minutes or faster), or install the infrastructure so charging stations are even half as common as gas stations then I'd be okay with swapping over full time.

Though I'll admit I pay absolutely no attention to cars in general.

In the mean time I'd be okay with having an EV as a secondary vehicle but I'd feel vulnerable and exposed in modern America with only an EV.

Critical thinking in this case just means to acknowledge that there is political sway and pressure to agree with a certain narrative. Again, the narrative could be correct, but if you don't think that there's any politics behind it and just blindly agree with it, you're not thinking critically.

The politics at play is to maintain the health and stability of the populace, a mandated function of the government.

And if you don't think there are foreign actors intentionally muddying the waters to make people less likely to get the vaccine and thus more likely to get covid and spread it then you're blind to the larger picture.

If the vaccine wasn't a narrative, you wouldn't see shame for not taking it. But what do you see? A ton of people shamed for not taking it. There is a narrative behind it. I'm not even saying the narrative is incorrect, but there 100% is one. I feel like you have to be blind to not see it.

The only narrative is that there's a virus out there that has killed over half a million Americans and the solution to getting back to normal is the vaccine. (In the purview of CE)

Any other narrative running counter to getting the vaccine is disingenuous, dangerous misinformation being perpetuated by idiots, bad faith actors and foreign enemies that want to see the world weak so they can move up in the world.

I didnt really follow the news on that past people stormed the building and things stolen. What was particularly more tragic and horrifying (for the cops) then a normal riot? Genuinely asking.

It's easy to depersonalize a random riot.

This was an attack on democracy and I imagine people who choose to be Capitol Police feel more strongly about America as an ideal than most cops even care about their own family.

To be attacked by Americans under order of the sitting President, and then for months afterward to be attacked and ridiculed by the people in the building you've sworn to protect because its politically convenient to do so, and after being beaten by people who stormed the Capitol, you're being gaslit and being told "oh it was just a tourist visit!" probably fucks with your psyche hard af.

I know CE isn't patriotic by any stretch but this isn't that hard to understand why someone who is would have a hard time coping.

Attorney General Merrick Garland urged Abbott, a Republican, to immediately walk back the directive a day after it was issued by the two-term governor, who is up for reelection in 2022 and for months has sought to claim former President Donald Trump's hardline mantle on immigration.
The letter from Garland is among the most forceful pushback yet from the Biden administration over the actions taken by Abbott along the U.S.-Mexico border, which have also included jailing migrants on state crimes and building new fencing. Civil rights groups and immigration advocates have also slammed Abbott's latest move to curb border crossings, saying it could invite racial profiling and restrict the ability of shelters to take in newly arriving families.
"The order is both dangerous and unlawful," Garland wrote.

Garland said Texas had "no authority to interfere" with the federal government's broad powers of immigration and raised the potential of a lawsuit if the order was not lifted.
In releasing the directive Wednesday, Abbott said "we must do more to protect Texans from this virus and reduce the burden on our communities." The order allows the Texas Department of Public Safety to "stop any vehicle upon reasonable suspicion" that it was providing ground transportation to a group of migrants.
Troopers could then reroute vehicles back to their point of origin or impound them.
Abbott shrugged off Garland's letter in a statement that blamed the Biden administration for high levels of migration along the southern border.
"The Biden Administration is jeopardizing the health and safety of Texans on a daily basis by refusing to follow the law," he said.

The directive is not the first time during the pandemic that Abbott has put focus on migrants and the virus' spread at a time of heightened worry over COVID-19. He raised similar worries over migrants in March -- without providing any evidence that they were causing increased COVID-19 caseloads -- which came as he faced criticism from public health officials for lifting a statewide mask mandate.
Abbott is now again facing calls to impose new coronavirus safeguards as the spread of the COVID-19 delta variant is raising infections. But he says he will not order new lockdowns or reimpose mask mandates.
"Blaming the current coronavirus surge on immigrants in his executive order, is a flagrant attempt to absolve his ineffective leadership that ultimately led to the unnecessary loss of life of our fellow Texans," Democratic state Rep. Rafael Anchia said.
Large numbers of migrants have been showing up at the U.S. border with Mexico, with many turning themselves over to U.S. Border Patrol agents in seeking legal asylum status. U.S. officials reported this month that they had encountered 55,805 members of families with children in June, up 25% from the previous month. That figure still remains far below the high of 88,587 in May 2019.

I guess you could argue its the very beginning of the third act but that's flimsy at best and hardly the end of the movie because you've still got a solid 30 minutes of film left and pivotal moments. ANH takes forever to actually get moving if you pay attention to the run time
