No clue. We actually found someone at worked and asked him about why he wouldn't get vaccinated and he just started laughing and walked away because he didn't have any logic in his head to even defend himself.

Here in Arizona, every store has a sign saying you don't have to wear a mask if you're vaccinated. The Governor banned vaccine passports. So no one wears a mask anymore, and stores can't stop us from entering. I'm not vaccinated either.

Not the vax itself, but my dad says he won't get any booster shots going forward; he's had persistent ringing in one of his ears ever since getting the second shot and the doctors haven't been able to find any other direct cause of it.

Im the only one in my department who got vaccinated. And 2/5 who did not get Covid. We were eligible in March and my two coworkers caught it a week after they could have gotten vaccinated. Now they say they have immunity and dont need a vaccine.

I was someone who was apprehensive about getting it because I just don't trust a vaccine that's not FDA approved.

I get this viewpoint but the FDA allowed its use under emergency use authorization. Theres plenty of great data to support the vaccines safety. The CDC and 99.9% of doctors are advocating for it. I just don't get how you are actively ignoring the major governing healthcare agency and all healthcare professionals, just because another government healthcare agency hasn't yet fully approved it.

Also I don't think people realize that when you're hospitalized, doctors use medications to treat you all the time that aren't FDA approved for that indication. Thats especially the case with COVID.

The CDC has shown that they'll just make statements that are popular and doctors can't go against the grain or they'll lose their jobs, possibly their license. If it wasn't so politicized and people didn't try to shame so hard, I'd definitely take those things into consideration. But it's hard for me to trust a situation where 99.9% of doctors choosing between agreeing with it or losing their livelihood.

As for the 2nd part. Yeah, it does happen a lot, but not when you're healthy. It's used when you've already contracted an illness and the fully approved options didn't work. This is different from that.

None of that is true. Doctors follow the evidence, thats it. We are able to read the actual studies ourselves and determine whats good and bad. Theres a reason why Doctors/Pharmacists have the highest rates of vaccination and the rates decrease as you go down in education like physicians assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, MAs, etc. Theres a reason why Doctors were the first ones in line to get the vaccine when it was available.

However, you cannot deny that a doctor would lose their license if they said the vaccine shouldn't be used on the general public.

Maybe it's because they're doctors and it's their fucking jobs to keep people from getting sick?

I'm sure that's true, I'm sure they do follow the evidence. However, you cannot deny that a doctor would lose their license if they said the vaccine shouldn't be used on the general public. They'd be ostracized like crazy. That fact alone should make you question things. Even if you agree with the vaccine narrative, you should still take a moment to think about it.

Even if you're right, if you're given a choice between agreeing or loss of livelihood, you never had a choice to begin with.

The vaccine is not a narrative. You're just making up bullshit and your examples are stupid. No medical decision is without risks. A doctors job is to evaluate the risks, benefits, and alternatives of every medical decision and advise their patients with that knowledge. You can be even a bottom tier doctor and realize the risk/benefit of the vaccine overwhelmingly favors getting the vaccine. Advising patients against it IMO would be malpractice and I think you should lose your license for it.

This argument we're having is a perfect example of how the average person has no fucking clue what their talking about when it comes to healthcare.

My grandparents on my mother's side refused to get the vaccine until recently. What made them wary was that a few of the elderly in their town died shortly after being vaccinated. I didn't ask my mom for further details so IDK if they were already infected with covid or some other underlying issues. Could just be a coincidence too. My grandfather just got vaccinated a few days ago because he wasn't allowed to visit the grocery store until he did. IDK if my grandmother is gonna get vaccinated or not.

If the vaccine wasn't a narrative, you wouldn't see shame for not taking it. But what do you see? A ton of people shamed for not taking it. There is a narrative behind it. I'm not even saying the narrative is incorrect, but there 100% is one. I feel like you have to be blind to not see it.
The only narrative is that there's a virus out there that has killed over half a million Americans and the solution to getting back to normal is the vaccine. (In the purview of CE)

Any other narrative running counter to getting the vaccine is disingenuous, dangerous misinformation being perpetuated by idiots, bad faith actors and foreign enemies that want to see the world weak so they can move up in the world.

Idk what to tell you, some people are just blind to how politics affect things. They think just because they chose the side that everyone else is on, that there was no political sway to put them there. These people need to engage in a little more critical thinking.

Critical thinking to conservatives:

"take this vaccine and lower my chances of dying, or don't..."

"yeah I'm gonna go with 'no'"

You don't think there would be any controversy amongst doctors telling the general healthy public to take an experimental drug?

First off, they test this shit before they approve it for the public. They don't just toss something together in a lab and pass it out.

Second, doctors also know the effects of letting Covid run unchecked. Which is why any credible doctor recommends vaccination. A doctor discouraging vaccination is like a fireman discouraging fire extinguishers.

...Anyway I don't know anyone personally who isn't getting the vaccine. I try not to associate with fools.

Critical thinking in this case just means to acknowledge that there is political sway and pressure to agree with a certain narrative. Again, the narrative could be correct, but if you don't think that there's any politics behind it and just blindly agree with it, you're not thinking critically.
The politics at play is to maintain the health and stability of the populace, a mandated function of the government.

And if you don't think there are foreign actors intentionally muddying the waters to make people less likely to get the vaccine and thus more likely to get covid and spread it then you're blind to the larger picture.

This isn't just about "blindly agreeing"

The only "political sway" is Trump calling the pandemic a hoax, and idiots latching onto that.

We knew how to tackle SARS. We knew how to tackle Ebola, but suddenly one side wants to think basic ass pandemic guidelines is political.

I can see where you're going with that, yeah. That said,

I feel like going out of your way to prescribe a narrative to something like this, as if it needs a deeper meaning than "people are dying and something needs to be done" feels kinda disingenuous. As if it ever needs to be more than that.

I know one coworker who does and she's elderly, so she's at risk of getting severe covid. She made the excuse of "Well, I don't go anywhere besides work and I haven't gotten covid so far. So I'm perfectly content with just wearing masks" and made a few remarks about how people have gotten blood clots with the vaccine.
