Black Panther. I really dont see whats so mind-bogglingly amazing about it. I dont think its a bad movie, and maybe it was ruined for me because I wasnt able to see it until a week after release and all I saw was people going absolutely nuts over it, but I was so incredibly underwhelmed by it. I think it's one the worst MCU movies. BP is a boring character, most of the other characters are boring, the story isn't very interesting, the world building is nonsense, the action is mostly bad, and the cgi is bad.

I'll even stop for lunch and look around for a while

I noped out of an interview when I was 18.

It was at a company that had two separate offices in the city, about a ten minute walk from each other. I get to the place where the interview is supposed to be, about 15 minutes early because I wanted to make a good impression, only to be told by the lady in the front desk that the interview was in the other building. I got out the letter confirming my interview (showing how long ago this was, haha), and showed it to the lady, and it said in there that I had to report to the building that I was in. And she said words to the effect of "Yeah, you report in here, but the actual interview is in the other office." So I thanked her, confirmed whereabouts in the other building I needed to go, then just went to the pub instead.

I'm still not sure if it was deliberate mindgames to see how people dealt with stress, a way of weaning out people who didn't have "good" timekeeping (since being just ten minutes early or less would mean that you'd actually end up being late for the real interview), or if they were just idiots, but it was only for a temp job, I had another job lined up that was due to start a couple of months later, and I was still living with my parents having zero real responsibilities, so I just figured fuck 'em.

I had an interview where they didn't directly give me an address, I just googled the office. I got there and there was nothing there. I frantically regoogled them and found another address, 15 minutes away, listed on their website than what was on google maps and rushed over there. Thankfully I was trying to be early as well. They asked me if I had any trouble getting there. Apparently they had moved offices a while back and never updated google maps.

If it's funny it's funny, no matter the target. If it's just mean spirited it's not a joke. Up and down can be so grey anyways. Can gay people joke about black people? Can muslims joke about disabled people? Who draws the line?

It was remarkably well made. The director did a great job; the actors did great jobs... I just couldn't figure out what the point of the story was. Like, who took this guy's biography and said "yeah, this is compelling and should be a movie."

That's how I feel about most of Scorcese's movies. It's like he hears about some cool criminal story and gets inspired to make the same movie for the seventh time.

While I don't agree with RotS being the 'least bad' of the prequels, it's at least an opinion I can respect. But no, there's a disturbing number of people out there now who believe it to be a genuinely good movie; presumably people who grew up with it and / or spent years absorbing the memes and erroneously believed themselves to be immune from diminishing irony.

There's always been a bit of it but the uptick in recent years is just some spiteful contrarianism to the sequels. People started pretending like they always liked the prequels just so they can keep complaining about the sequels.

Horror movies have really been excelling lately at taking exploitation tropes like hyper violence, graphic sex, and pure scum and elevating it. We need to do the same with blaxploitation. People want more black led movies? People want fun ass action movies? Give Foxy Brown and Black Caesar the A24 treatment.

Wedding Crashers immediately springs to mind. It was supposed to be the next big comedy movie in line after Zoolander, Dodgeball, Old School, and Anchorman (all of which I loved), and everyone else in my social circle fawned over it...but I just didn't find it funny.

Feature-length comedies really dropped off a cliff for me after that. Superbad and Step Brothers were two other prominent ones that I just didn't enjoy at all. In fact the only other feature-length comedies I did enjoy in the 00's were Hot Fuzz and Walk Hard.

I've always thought that whole era was a complete disaster. I liked Talladega Nights when I was in middle school but I tried to rewatch it recently and..nah. Didn't like anything else Ferrell did. Then the whole Superbad/40 year old virgin crew took over as top dogs and I hate all of those movies. I feel like we're only just now recovering from that era of comedies. Pretty much the only good comedies of the 21st century are hybrids like action, horror, or drama comedies.

Because this version of Thanos already knows that he wins in the future and just has to do it again. He's much younger than the other Thanos and doesn't view the Avengers as a threat. Old Thanos barely did and he knew all about them.

You talking to me? I've read tons of comics. It would be one thing to translate a comic directly into live action to see what it would look like in real life but a cartoon, with a similar art style to comics, with the exact same beats and dialogue is basically the comic equivalent of an audio book.

Just read the comic.

This is such a weird franchise. There have been ten movies over 60 years and no one gives a shit about any of them. Apart from the goofy costumes and big twist of the original they have had no lasting memory, and no one can even remember what they're called because of the terrible naming convention.

And? We know what he wanted to do, we know the final result. Do we need to see him sitting in his lab pouring shit into vials? There was a lot of ground to cover in that movie and seeing Bruce fix himself wasn't important to the drive of the narrative. These movies pack so much stuff into their runtime. They should be praised for their efficiency.

It would be one thing if he actually had his own movies that didn't show his story arc but, because of the goofy deal they have with Universal, he's always going to be second banana to everyone else and his story is just gonna have to fit into the cracks of other movies.

Also, apparently there was supposed to be a moment in Endgame where Hulk strikes Black Panthers suit, and BP uses the absorbed force of the strike to destroy one of Thanos's ships

God, that suit was so dumb. They nailed the look and abilities in Civil War. I don't why they thought they needed to give him an autowin button moving forward.

Chocolate chip isn't even a top ten cookie. Snickerdoodles, peanut butter, oatmeal, white chocolate macadamia, grocery store frosted cookies, sugar, and every girl scout cookie are easily better. Chcolate chip is only really good when it's piping hot out of the oven and also has nuts in it.

Whatever is happening, it's not worse than the general shift in personalities that has cumulated over the last few years. You guys need to get over it and talk about things that make the site interesting, not just doom post about how you won't be able to post here by retirement age.

It would certainly be interesting to dig into the rabbit hole of the social media extremism pipeline but it seems like he just has some personal beef with Zuckbot. Feels like it would just point a finger at Facebook and say "see? Bad." Without delving into how people got there.

Kong leading the story just makes a lot more sense tbh. He can emote and communicate with humans and other titans in a way that Godzilla either cant or wont. At least not without deeming his character.

So it makes a lot more sense for him to take lead. Otherwise the humans would have had to and nobody wants that. So this was the best compromise.

As much as I love Godzilla this was a really cool way to frame the last two movies. We've got 30 Godzilla movies already; letting Kong take the lead is a fine change and it made the story a lot more interesting.
